🐾 Brockenhurst Honey Badgers Match Report 🐾

Fixture: Amesbury Galaxy vs Brockenhurst Honey Badgers

Result: 5–0 to the Honey Badgers

Date: 22nd November

Location: Amesbury (near Stonehenge and nowhere near Hampshire)

Weather: The weather was so cold and wet it felt like Stonehenge had relocated to the pitch—ancient, bleak, and surrounded by people wondering why they were there.

⏱ First Half – Cold, Corners & a Daisy Delight

The Honey Badgers arrived after a journey worthy of Homer’s Odyssey. The reward? A pitch so cold and wet it felt like Poseidon himself had booked it for the day, complete with a privy so primitive you needed bravery points to use it (which this reporter earned).
Kick-off saw parents huddled like penguins in an Antarctic storm—one tap dance away from turning halftime into Happy Feet: The Musical.
Linesman? Late. But the game? Alive.
The Honey Badgers’ pressure was as relentless as the rain, with corner after corner pelting the Galaxy’s box.
Violet was immense at right back—composed, clever, and shutting down their left flank like a pro. Meantime Abby marauded down our left-wing with every run screaming intent.
Then came the breakthrough: Daisy, cool as ice, slotted home a penalty after a handball. ⚽ 1–0.
Half-time couldn’t come soon enough—time for players and parents to thaw out and plot the second-half storm.

🔁 Second Half – Sophie’s Hat-Trick & Daisy’s Encore

From the restart, Galaxy tried to sparkle—but instead collapsed into a black hole, sucking in hope and five goals.
They came out firing, turning the screw and piling pressure on the Honey Badgers’ goal. Sirena responded with a wonder-save and the defence stood firm like a brick wall in a storm.
Then came the game-changer: a triple substitution from the coaches. Sophie, Phoebe, and Isla entered like a cavalry charge, flipping the momentum in seconds. Imogen and Amelie? Absolute midfield generals.
And then Sophie went full predator mode—three goals in a blistering spell that left Galaxy chasing shadows. What can we say about Sophie? Fabulous doesn’t even cover it. After another hat-trick, she’s not just scoring goals—she’s rewriting the league’s record books. If there were an MVP award for the league, Sophie would already have her name engraved on it. Keep shining.
Daisy added another for good measure—because why settle for one when you can have two? Should she have had three? Probably. But a controversial offside flag saved Nigel’s wallet from the hat-trick bonus. After Sirena’s wonder-save, that flag was the best save of the day.

Final whistle: 💥 5–0.

Back to the cars, heated seats on, smiles all round. Still unbeaten. Still top. Still awesome.

🏅 Awards & Applause
• Opposition’s Player: Lucia – Played with elegance and grit; if football had a catwalk, she’d strut down it in steel toe-capped boots.
• Coaches’ Player: Lucia – Double recognition. A masterclass in determination and style.
• Supporters’ Player: Daisy – Two goals and ice-cool composure. Calm in chaos, clinical in front of goal.

Next up: Andover Arctic Vixens—good thing it’s at home, because we left our sled dogs and thermal gear in Amesbury.

🐾 Brockenhurst Honey Badgers Match Report 🐾
Fixture: Hythe & Dibden vs Brockenhurst Honey Badgers
Result: 1-1 (Hythe win 4-2 on penalties)
Date: 8th November
Location: Shore Road, Hythe

⏱ First Half – Sunshine, Swagger & a Slippery Slip-Up

With the sun blazing like it had forgotten it was November, Shore Road felt more like a summer holiday than a battleground. The pitch shimmered in the heat, and the Honey Badgers arrived with shades on, sleeves rolled up, and fire in their bellies. But for the first 15 minutes, it was more sunbathing than swashbuckling.
Phoebe sparked the first real moment of intent, unleashing a shot that had Hythe’s keeper scrambling. Tia, meanwhile, was everywhere - tigerish in the tackle, prowling the left-hand side of the pitch.
Then Isla ghosted into the box and let fly. It should’ve been a goal. It wasn’t. Football, eh?
And then—disaster. A goal so soft it could’ve been sponsored by marshmallows. 1–0 Hythe. Against the run of play. Against the vibe. Against everything decent.
Half-time: 1–0 down, but far from out.

🔁 Second Half – Sophie Strikes, Sirena Stuns

The second half began with Imogen testing the keeper early, setting the tone for a Badger resurgence. Ivy T followed up with a last-ditch tackle that had parents gasping and coaches scribbling “Ivy Tackle Masterclass” into their notebooks.
Lucia, the defensive general, bowed out another commanding shift, with Isla dropping into defence. Isla didn’t just fill in—she turned playmaker in seconds, slipping a delicious ball through to Sophie. Sophie took off down the left like a rumour in a small town, cut inside, and curled a pinpoint shot into the bottom corner. 💥 1–1. Game on.

🎉 Full-Time Scenes – Shootouts & Shades
70 minutes done. 1–1. Time for the lottery of penalties.
Penalties: Grit, Gloves, and a Sirena Special
After 70 minutes of drama, it came down to penalties. Up stepped Sophie, Daisy, Tia, Amelie, and Abbey—hands raised, hearts racing.
And in goal? Sirena. Brave as a lion. The first Hythe penalty? World-class save. The rest? Unstoppable rockets.
Final score: 4–2 to Hythe on pens—but the Honey Badgers won the crowd, the courage, and the chaos.

🏅 Awards & Applause
• Opposition’s Player: Sirena– braver than James’ questionable cap choice.
• Parents’ Player: Tia – the defensive tiger with claws of steel.
• Coaches’ Player: Amelie – serenity, poise, and oodles of ability.
Next up: Unbeaten at home. Unbothered by penalties. Unleashing chaos next weekend on Stoneham Tigers!

Fixture: Brockenhurst Honey Badgers vs Wi******er Redwings

Result: 4–0 (Honey Badgers go TOP!)

Date: 18th October

Location: The majestic grounds of Walhampton School

⏱ First Half – Badgers Take the Stage, Redwings Take Cover

With the imposing Walhampton School looming like a castle behind them and a pitch so compact it could fit in your nan’s garden; the Honey Badgers knew this was their moment. A top-of-the-table clash. A shot at glory. And best of all—less running. Bliss.
From kick-off, Brockenhurst were all over it like bees on honey. Ivy H, Isla, and Abbie ran the midfield like seasoned generals, while Lucia, Tia, and Jane built a defensive fortress.
Then came the breakthrough. Sophie let fly with a rocket that pinged around the box like a rogue firework before landing sweetly at the feet of Alice—fresh off the physio’s table and clearly not here to ease back in. One touch, one finish, one almighty cheer. 💥 1–0. Welcome back, Alice!
Half-time: 1–0 and the Honey Badgers were just getting warmed up.

🔁 Second Half – The Sophie & Isla Show (Featuring Trev’s Wallet)

Isla, now fully embracing her role as midfield enforcer and part-time magician, kept her scoring streak alive. She picked up the ball, gave the defence a look that said “brace yourselves,” and burst through midfield like a runaway train. Then—just for fun—she casually nutmegged the keeper like it was a playground warm-up. 💥 2–0. No fuss. No drama. Just pure class.
Then came Sophie. Again. And again. Two goals in rapid succession that had the Redwings flapping and Trev frantically refreshing his banking app. 💥💥 3–0, 4–0.

This reporter has officially stopped counting Sophie’s goals. But two things are crystal clear:
1. Erling Haaland is nervously watching Honey Badger highlights.
2. Trev’s goal bonus fund is now on life support.

🎉 Full-Time Scenes – League Leaders & Birthday Beats

The final whistle blew, and the Honey Badgers were officially top of the league. Fans erupted in cheers, chants, and a spontaneous rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Imogen that could be heard all the way back in Brockenhurst.
Next up: Defending the crown. But for now, it’s feet up, snacks out, and a well-earned week off. Unbeaten. Unstoppable. Unapologetically brilliant.

🏅 Awards & Applause
• Opposition’s Player: Isla – midfield magician and nutmeg queen.
• Parents’ Player: Daisy – energy, grit, and a smile that never quit.
• Coaches’ Player: Daisy again – a double nod to a top performance.

🐾 Brockenhurst Honey Badgers Match Report 🐾
Fixture: Brockenhurst Honey Badgers vs Hythe & Dibden
Result: 2–0 (Honey Badgers triumph again!)
Date: 11th October
Weather: Gritty skies, gritty football
Formation: 4-4-2

⏱ First Half – Bars, Breakthroughs & Brave Blocks
The Honey Badgers were fired up from the warm-up with motivation levels somewhere between “let’s win” and “let’s conquer.”
Within minutes, Sophie unleashed a thunderbolt that smacked the crossbar so hard it’s probably still vibrating. The crowd gasped and the goalposts filed for emotional support. But Sophie doesn’t do “almost.” Moments later, she pounced on a loose ball and walloped it into the net like she was settling a score with gravity itself. 💥 1-0.
The Badgers were purring now but wait — Hythe snuck in a shot on goal… Sirena, as chilled as a penguin in a hammock, pulled off a save that defied logic, physics, and possibly the laws of time. The ball ricocheted off her like she’d planned it all along. She gave a casual shrug. Classic Sirena — part goalkeeper, part Jedi.
Down the left flank, Abby and Tia were a dynamic duo — like an iron fist in a velvet glove. Abby danced past defenders with flair and finesse, while Tia backed her up with crunching tackles and inch-perfect passes. The left wing is where artistry met authority.
Then Isla spotted a gap in the middle of the park and charged through like a freight train wearing ballet slippers — elegant destruction. ⚽ 2-0.
Just before the whistle, Daisy found herself through on goal. One-on-one with the keeper… the crowd inhaled… and the ball rolled just wide. Agonising. Tragic. Shakespearean.
Half time: 2-0.
🔁 Second Half – Steel, Storms & Sophie’s Stand
The second half was a masterclass in defensive discipline. Tia, Lucia, Ivy T and Jane formed a wall so solid it could’ve been listed as a heritage site. Hythe & Dibden tried everything — but the Honey Badgers weren’t budging.
Imogen was everywhere — gliding, grafting, giving it everything. Lucia’s defensive display was calm and composed - gliding through tackles with the serenity of a spa day and Ivy T’s engine never stopped running.
It was attritional. It was tense. And then, frustration boiled over. A bad tackle on a very brave Sophie had hearts in mouths and tempers flaring. But she bounced back, because that’s what Honey Badgers do.
The final whistle blew. Another clean sheet. Another win.
Wi******er Redwings next….

🏅 Awards & Applause
• Oppositions’ Player: Imogen — relentless and radiant. 👏
• Parents’ Player: Lucia — calm, commanding, crucial at the back 🛡️
• Coaches Player: Ivy T — cardio queen 💪

Gosport Sapphires 0 vs Brockenhurst Honey Badgers 3 🎉🎉🎉

Such a fun morning! A lovely team, and another win. 3 from 3 and 3 great goals!

Everyone was awesome, and I know it always seems like I say that, but it’s true!

Daisy was in a new position and played it to perfection, deservedly earning supporters player. Sophie dominated the mid-field and could have chalked up a huge tally today! Not surprisingly the other team voted her their player! And Abby was non-stop, scoring in striker position and then defending valiantly when in mid-field earning coaches player.

The team played so well together today, and it was so lovely to see Violet there to support with her foot in her air boot! She was clearly desperate to get on pitch!

Let’s keep up the momentum! ~ Coach James

🐾 Brockenhurst Honey Badgers Match Report 🐾
Fixture: Brockenhurst Honey Badgers vs Denmead Panthers
Result: 2–0 (to the Honey Badgers!)
Date: 20th September
Weather: Wet
Formation: 4-4-2

⏱ First Half – Chaos, Corners & Cries for More Goals
The Honey Badgers exploded out of the gates like they’d been fuelled by rocket fuel or Haribo. From the first whistle, it was total territorial dominance — Denmead Panthers barely crossed the halfway line.
Sophie, turbo-charged on the right wing, tore past defenders like they weren’t there. One touch, one glance, one thunderous strike — and the net was left wondering what just happened. 💥 1-0.
From there, it was a siege. Corner after corner — more than a Muller’s yoghurt shelf. The Panthers were so deep in their own half, they needed a passport to cross midfield. Daisy broke through with a glorious solo run, one-on-one with the keeper… and the crowd inhaled. But alas, the keeper stood tall and the scoreline stayed stubbornly at 1-0.
Imogen was weaving spells on the left wing, Isla continued her good form from last week, and Tia making her first league appearance of the season was as tenacious as ever.
Despite total domination, the scoreboard refused to budge. Parents were muttering. Coaches were pacing. Even the half time snack table looked nervous.

🔁 Second Half – Twin Peaks, Tension & Triumph
Denmead Panthers returned from halftime with a bit of bite, but they hadn’t reckoned with the immovable force of Maddison and Lucia — the defensive Twin Peaks. Every Panther attack was met with a firm “Nope” and a clearance that could’ve reached the moon.
Jane continued to be the Honey Badgers’ human shield, while Serena in goal had the calm of a cat. Amelie, outmatched in size, proved that speed beats power every time.
Still, the crowd grew restless. “We need another goal,” someone whispered. “Or snacks,” someone else added.
Then — finally — Alice, making her first league start of the season, broke through. Shot. Save. Rebound. GOAL. ⚽ 2-0. Cue wild celebrations, relieved sighs, and James & Jamie doing a victory dance in a roofless dugout.
The Panthers were done. The Honey Badgers could finally relax and close the match out in style. Nyah kept stretching the defence to breaking point, Iris was so unstoppable it took two Panthers to slow her down and Ivy T was sprinting so much she may have accidentally invented a new cardio workout and the team closed out the match with style and swagger.
The final whistle blew. The Honey Badgers had dominated, dazzled, and delivered.

🏅 Awards & Applause
• Oppositions’ Player: Amelie — small but mighty, like a pocket-sized powerhouse 💥
• Coaches & Parents’ Player: Maddison — a defensive masterclass, thoroughly deserved 👏
• Snacks (allegedly): Bronwen — though they remain shrouded in mystery 🍪👀

⚽️⚽️ WI******ER CITY FLYERS TOURNAMENT ⚽️⚽️

On Sunday 7th September, to start the 25/26 season off in style, the U14 Honey Badgers took part in the 11-aside Wi******er City Flyers tournament at Wi******er Sport & Leisure Park.
To say we were anxious at potentially facing some very good Div 1 teams, is an understatement but we were raring to go, sporting our new kits and summer tans!! 😉

⚽️ First up in the Group stage was Stoneham. Energy was up from the start and within a couple of minutes, Sophie scored a banger! We held our own and bagged a win! 1-0 to the Honeys 🎉

⚽️ Baffins Milton Rovers were our next opponents. They managed to sneak a couple past us, resulting in a final score of 2-0 to them!

⚽️ We knew we could still make it to the Quarters if we kept our spirits high and against a very physical WFC Redwings, we did just that: holding them to a 0-0 draw!

😬 A tense few minutes were had whilst waiting to know our fate…we’d done it! We were through to the Quarters! 🎉

⚽️ Wi******er Falcons (who went on to win the whole tournament!) tested us from the start and sadly, knocked us out with a 2-0 win.

🥰 To say the girls did us proud, is an understatement! Many coaches and managers shared their surprise that they weren’t in a higher division!

Onwards and upwards…

Come on 25/26…let’s be having you!! 💪

🐾 Brockenhurst Honey Badgers Match Report 🐾
Fixture: Petersfield Town vs Brockenhurst Honey Badgers
Result: 2–3 (to the Honey Badgers!)
Date: 13th September and first game of the season
Weather: Somewhere between “a nice morning” and “why did we leave the house?”
Formation: Classic 4-4-2 (because sometimes, tradition wins games)

⚽ First Half Drama – Rain, Grit, and Isla’s Magic
The Honey Badgers arrived at Petersfield looking like a squad of determined warriors… accompanied by a group of parents who’d just survived a journey that felt longer than a Tolkien trilogy. Spirits were high, and the girls were ready to kick off the season in style.
From the first whistle, the Honey Badgers showed intent. The new 4-4-2 formation had the midfield buzzing like caffeinated bees, and despite a players adjusting to unfamiliar roles, the team moved with discipline and purpose.
Then, against the run of play, Petersfield snuck in a goal. A momentary lapse, a lucky bounce, and suddenly the Badgers were trailing. But if anyone thought that would rattle them, they clearly hadn’t met Isla.
Moments later, Isla picked up the ball near the halfway line and decided she was going to rewrite the script. What followed was a solo run that could only be described as epic. She weaved through defenders like they were traffic cones and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom corner with the composure of someone choosing which flavour of ice cream to have. 1–1, and the crowd (by now mostly under umbrellas) erupted.
The rest of the half saw end-to-end action, with Lucia and Jane keeping things tight at the back with Abbey, Ivy and Daisy pushing forward with energy. The Honey Badgers were growing in confidence, and Petersfield were starting to look nervously over their shoulders.

🍊 Half-Time
Score: 1–1
Mood: Optimistic
Snacks: Slightly damp

🔥 Second Half Fireworks – Penalties, Thunderbolts & Pure Drama
The second half began with Petersfield catching the Honey Badgers (and parents) off guard, sneaking in a goal straight from kick-off. 2–1, and the home side were suddenly buzzing.
But if Petersfield thought that would rattle the Honey Badgers, they clearly hadn’t read the script. The girls regrouped, refocused, and began to turn the screw. The midfield started to dominate, with crisp passing and relentless pressing. The defence tightened up, and the Honey Badgers began to look like a team on a mission.
Then came the moment of controversy – a clear handball in the box by a Petersfield defender. The referee didn’t hesitate, and the whistle blew. PENALTY. The crowd held its breath. Sophie stepped up, calm as a cucumber, took a moment, turned with the swagger of someone who’s done this before, and coolly slotted it past the keeper. 2–2, and the momentum had shifted.
With the clock ticking and the match heading for a draw, the Honey Badgers kept pushing. The parents were pacing. The coaches were gesturing like tactical conductors. And then… magic.
Sophie, clearly not content with just one goal, picked up the ball outside the box. She looked up, saw the tiniest gap, and unleashed a thunderbolt that could’ve powered the team bus. The ball flew past the keeper, kissed the back of the net, and sent the sideline into raptures. 2–3, and Petersfield were left blinking in disbelief.

🛡️ Defensive Wall
With Petersfield throwing everything forward (including, we suspect, their kitchen sink), the Honey Badgers’ defence stood tall. Lucia, Violet, Phoebe, Jane and Serena marshalled the back line like seasoned generals, repelling attacks with grit, grace, and the occasional shout of “CLEAR IT!”

🎯 Final Whistle
Petersfield Town 2 – 3 Brockenhurst Honey Badgers
First game. First win. The season is young, but the Honey Badgers are already making noise.

👏 Shoutouts
• Isla - Coaches’ and Parents’ player
• James, Jamie & Becci – Tactical masterminds and zen-like calmness under pressure.
• Trev – Ran the line with the precision of a Swiss watch and the enthusiasm of a Labrador on a beach.

🐾 Honey Badgers Motto:

Another hard fought game with Farnborough yesterday resulted in an unlucky 0-1 loss. Farnborough were better technically than us but we matched them with desire and effort. We were great on the break in the first half but never tested their keeper, but neither did they. We were not at the same level in the second half but defended well, until a couple of positional errors resulted in a goal. There was a large stoppage due to a Farnborough player getting knocked out by a ball into her head. She was taken to Southampton general by ambulance and has been released with concussion. Mum says she on the mend. Whilst there was a stoppage both teams sat round in a circle and chatted together before doing cartwheels and flips. This was great to see .
