🚨YEAR 5/6 GIRLS CRICKET NEWS🚨

A massive well done to our girls' cricket teams who took part in the Thanet Cricket Tournament at the end of last term!
Both teams were outstanding throughout the competition, demonstrating excellent skill, teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. They represented Upton brilliantly and should all be incredibly proud of their performances.
One of our teams had a fantastic tournament, competing brilliantly against strong opposition and securing an impressive 3rd place finish in Thanet – a wonderful achievement.🥉
Our second team also enjoyed a superb tournament, progressing through the group stage unbeaten and earning their place in the final. They continued their excellent form with a commanding performance to win the final and be crowned Thanet Champions! 🥇🏆
As a result, they will now go on to represent Thanet at the Kent Finals in the coming weeks – an exciting opportunity and a reward for all of their hard work and dedication.
Congratulations to every player who took part. To have one team finish 3rd in Thanet and another crowned champions is an incredible achievement for Upton, and we couldn't be prouder of you all!

A huge well done to our Year 3/4 cricket team, who took part in the Thanet Cricket Competition at the end of last term!
The team performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, showcasing some fantastic batting, taking impressive wickets, and producing some truly spectacular catches in the field.
After an outstanding group stage, where they remained unbeaten, the team secured their place in the final. Following a closely contested match, Upton narrowly missed out on the title and finished as runners-up, earning an incredible 2nd place in Thanet.
This is a fantastic achievement, and every player should be extremely proud of their efforts. Congratulations to the whole team on a superb tournament.🥈🏏

🚨HOCKEY NEWS🚨

A huge well done to our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 hockey teams who proudly represented Upton at the Thanet Schools Hockey Tournament!
Both teams were outstanding throughout the competition, facing some very strong opposition and rising to every challenge. They demonstrated fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship, scoring some excellent goals and producing superb defensive performances.
After hard-fought matches, both teams secured an incredible 2nd place finish in Thanet – a fantastic achievement that they should all be extremely proud of.
Congratulations to all of our players for representing Upton so brilliantly. You were a credit to the school, and we couldn't be prouder of your efforts and success!🥈🥈🏑

🚨SWIMMING NEWS🚨

A huge congratulations to all of our swimmers from Years 3–6 who represented us at the East Kent Schools Swimming Gala this weekend!
What an incredible day of swimming and achievement. Our Year 3/4 team kicked things off with a fantastic performance in the pool. Their hard work and determination paid off, with several podium finishes helping the team secure an impressive 3rd place overall.🥉
The Year 5/6 team then took to the water and faced some very strong competition. They rose to the challenge brilliantly, achieving podium finishes in all but two races, with many swimmers claiming 1st place in their events. Their outstanding performances saw the team crowned overall champions! 🥇
We are so proud of every swimmer who took part. Your commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort throughout the day were exceptional. Well done to you all on such a successful and memorable day!🏊🏊‍♀️

A huge congratulations to all of our cross-country runners who took part in the Upton Cross Country event this weekend!
We were incredibly proud to have over 100 Uptonians representing us, and every single one of you gave it your all. Despite the challenging weather conditions, your determination, resilience, and enthusiasm shone through, with smiles remaining on faces throughout the day.
You should all be extremely proud of your achievements. A special mention also goes to those who secured top-three finishes — a fantastic accomplishment!
Well done to each and every one of you. You were outstanding ambassadors for our school, and we couldn't be prouder!🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

What an amazing weekend at the South East Regionals for Parker, who swam in 7 events over two days! He placed in two finals, being in the top 8 fastest swimmers for the 200IM and the 50 Free.

His biggest achievement of the weekend was becoming the 400 Freestyle South East Regional CHAMPION, winning GOLD! 🥇

Our Year 6 boys took part in their final football tournament at Upton, bringing an incredible season to a memorable close. They have been outstanding throughout the year, and this tournament was the perfect finale—winning three of the four local trophies on offer and finishing third in Kent.
Facing some of the strongest teams in the area, the boys showed exceptional skill and determination, conceding just one goal across the entire competition to secure victory in their final tournament at Upton 🥇🏆
A fantastic achievement by every player—well done, boys!

🚨Swimming news🚨

Our year 5/6 swim teams took part in the Kent regionals relay championships in March all 3 teams were superb throughout the day! In the end Upton qualified in 4 out of the 6 races for the South East regionals!! This is an extraordinary achievement! We will be cheering you all the way when they compete later this month! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

🚨RUGBY NEWS🚨

Last Saturday our years 5/6 rugby teams took part in the Thanet competition. All three teams represented the school brilliantly and got better and better throughout the morning. In the end Upton 3rd and 2nd teams finished 2nd in their respective groups🥈🥈and Upton 1 finished 1st in the top group meaning Upton became Thanet champions!! Well done all. 🏉🥇🏆
