Facilities include a Multi Use Games Area with floodlights for tennis, netball, pickleball, and 5-a-side; fully equipped kitchen; indoor hall, one full sized football pitch, changing rooms; petanque courts and an all weather cricket wicket. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) the Chalke Valley Sports Centre serves the valley villages of Alvediston, Bishopstone, Bowerchalke, Ebbesbourne Wake, Stratford Tony and its location village, Broad Chalke. The Sports Centre hosts a number of Clubs:

We have decided to postpone until the new year our Sunday outdoor petanque. With the current situation, it seems best to try and ensure we can all enjoy a family Christmas next weekend. At any other time, we would probably go ahead, it being outdoors, but having spoken to a few regulars and some already having to self isolate, it seems the right thing to do and not increase risk.

Many thanks for your support on Friday evenings and the Petanque Committee wish hope you a happy and healthy Christmas and we all hope the New Year will bring an improving position so we can return to normal activities”

The basketball ground socket was sucessfully installed in a meter square of concrete. Great work by Ted and Jonathon in moving about a couple of tonnes of material to complete the job. Now we just have to wait for the concrete to properly set before we can get the post and back board installed.
We were also able to replace the tennis sockets on court 1 and this will be back in action in a weeks time.

Subject to suitable weather conditions next week, on Thursday & Friday maintenance works will be carried out at the sports centre to install ground fixing for the basketball posts, works to one of the tennis courts.
The second court will remain operational.
All of this will depend on the weather and on what is found when the works start.
