What a day at the Ferndale Rodbourne Tournament! 🏆💙🖤💛

We entered two teams, Blunsdon Blue and Blunsdon Amber, with no substitutes for either side, and every single player gave absolutely everything throughout the day.

Both teams played brilliantly and progressed through to the Plate competition, with both reaching the semi-finals. Blunsdon Amber’s fantastic run came to an end against Bishops Cannings Ladies, while Blunsdon Blue faced Ferndale Rodbourne Green in a tense semi-final winning 2-1.

The final against Bishops Cannings Ladies was just as dramatic, going to penalties. Sam pulled off a fantastic save, and our three penalty takers found the net to secure the Plate Cup victory!

We couldn’t be prouder of Blunsdon Blue for bringing home our first trophy as a team! 🏆

There were so many highlights throughout the day:
⚽ Emily scoring her first goal for Blunsdon
⚽ Mandy getting on the scoresheet before retirement
⚽ Hanna making her debut for the team
⚽ Lynds scoring directly from kick-off!
🧤 Sam and Dani making important penalty saves
🧤 Hanna, Dani and Gina all stepping up to go in goal when needed

Most importantly, every single player should be proud. To play a full tournament with no substitutes and keep battling through every game showed incredible determination, teamwork and spirit.

A brilliant day and a fantastic achievement for both teams. 💙💛

As we look back on an incredible year, we wanted to share some photos from our recent Presentation Day. It’s been a season full of hard work, commitment, teamwork and laughter.

After an incredible 2025/26 season, Blunsdon Ladies are looking to add 4–5 new players to our squad for the 2026/27 season.

We’re proud of the culture we’ve created - a team environment that is ambitious, welcoming and built around enjoying football together.

What a season for Blunsdon Ladies 💛🖤🫶🏼

From where we were last year to where we’ve finished now… the progress has been incredible.

✨ 4th place in the league (out of 11 teams)
⚽️ 58 league goals scored
💪 Only 4 losses in 20 games
🔥 12 league games unbeaten in a row
🏆 Wiltshire County Plate Cup Semi-Finalists
🎗️ £425 raised for Cancer Research

Last season we finished with a negative goal difference… this year we’ve turned that into an incredible +21. That says everything about the hard work, commitment and belief in this squad.

This team has grown in every way - on the pitch, in confidence and as a group. The resilience, the fight, and the support for each other week in, week out has been something special to be part of.

A massive thank you to everyone involved for being part of such a memorable season - players, coaches, family and supporters.

So proud of this team and everything we’ve achieved together. Here’s to a little rest before we go again! 🖤💛

Some of the Blunsdon Ladies took part in our annual Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5k yesterday, raising an incredible £425 for Cancer Research.

It was such a fun afternoon supporting a truly worthwhile cause, and it’s safe to say we all got pretty muddy! 🩷

💛🖤 MATCH REPORT 🖤💛

Blunsdon Ladies signed off their season in style with a hard-fought draw against Bishops Cannings, in what was a true display of resilience, commitment and team spirit.

Heading into the final game of the season with just 11 players available, with some carrying injuries - it already felt like a challenge. With no substitutes on the bench and up against a full Bishops Cannings squad of 16, the odds were stacked against Blunsdon. But if anything, it only highlighted what the team can accomplish and are capable of.

From the first whistle to the last, every single player gave absolutely everything. The effort, spirit and determination shown across the pitch were exceptional. Players adapted brilliantly, stepping into different positions when needed, all for the good of the team.

Defensively, Blunsdon were outstanding. The back line worked tirelessly to limit Bishops Cannings’ opportunities, making it difficult for them to break through. When they did manage to create chances, Sam in goal was more than equal to it - her shot-stopping was superb and kept the team firmly in the game.

Across the pitch, it was a real collective effort. Every player played for one another, dug deep, and pushed through the full 90 minutes without relief. Considering the circumstances - including missing players and two teammates running the London Marathon - this result felt like much more than just a draw. It felt like a win.

A special mention goes to Players of the Match, Mandy and Lauren. Both stepped in at the last minute to ensure the team could field a full 11 and went on to deliver incredible performances, battling through the entire match. Absolute stars who gave everything for the badge.

An incredible way to close out the season. So much to be proud of - now it’s just a case of seeing where Blunsdon Ladies finish in the table.
