There may have been a long 9-week break between fixtures due to rain delays, icy courts, team no shows and the festive period 😬 but Churston were finally able to complete their 2nd match of the season last weekend 🙌🏻.

The team backed up their opening round victory with a solid 6-2 win as they hosted Totnes B on a mild and thankfully dry afternoon! 🌥️

All four players played their part and picked up points in another good win for . Well played Tim, Nikki, Mike & Dawn 👏🏼👏🏼 Next up Churston take on current table toppers Totnes A. Good Luck everyone 🍀

After a couple of false starts due to a number of unfortunate injuries, Churston were able to kick off their winter 2025/2026 campaign last month 🙌🏻😁. This season sees a significantly reduced league with only 5 teams competing but Churston look forward to some competitive tennis over the cold winter months ❄️

First up was Cary Park away. Always an enjoyable fixture, the game was played in good spirits and the team were pleased to pick up their first win 💪🏻. 2 mixed points for Churston's number 1 pairing and a straight sets win in the men's doubles meant the ladies had to battle hard for a draw to break the deadlock and secure a 5️⃣-3️⃣victory. Well played Tim, Nikki, Mike and Katherine 👏🏻

This weekend sees the team take on Totnes B at home. Good luck all 🍀.

Good luck to who kick off their summer league campaigns this month🍀👏🏻. Our men, newly promoted to Div 1 will face tough opposition but no doubt will enjoy the challenge 💪🏻. Although it was a struggle to field teams this winter, Churston persevered to overcome a player shortage to complete all but one of their fixtures 😬. A big thanks goes to all who stepped up. Everyone played with a great attitude and enthusiasm 👏🏻👏🏻.

This winter gave our new players a chance to shine and it was encouraging to get our juniors on court. With 3️⃣ wins, 3️⃣ draws, 1️⃣ walkover and 5️⃣ losses, it was a busy season. There were plenty of highlights along the way, lots to be proud of and hopefully this will encourage player participation in the league moving forward.

Churston will now look forward to playing in the men's and veterans leagues in the South Devon League this summer. Good luck everyone 🍀. If anyone is interested in playing, please get in touch.

Under blue, cloudless skies Churston hosted Cary Park on a bright Sunday afternoon☀️😎. The team welcomed back Joseph and Kaye for their second appearances for 👏🏻.

There were some close sets, great rallies and tight tussles! Tim & Nikki picked up 2 points in the mixed and Kaye and Nikki secured a further point in the ladies, but it was the visitors who emerged victorious 5️⃣-3️⃣ in an enjoyable contest.

Well played team 👏🏻. Two matches left. If anyone would like to play in our men's or veterans (60+) teams this summer please get in touch 🤳🏻😊

Compared to previous damp and windy matches this winter, it was positively spring like on Sunday with calm, sunny conditions making it the perfect afternoon to hit some tennis balls 🎾

Churston hosted Torquay and the home side put in a superb team performance keeping a clean sheet stubbornly refusing to give up a set, securing an 8-0 win 😄🙌🏻. The mixed team have endured some tough tests this season, but they can be rightly proud of their weekend efforts against a very friendly and good spirited opposition.

Well played Tim and Nikki and a huge welcome to Kaye who was playing in her first match for and crushed it!! 💪🏻. A special mention goes to Jeremy, who despite being injured stepped up when the team found themselves short and put in a man of the match performance! 👏🏻👏🏻

It's been a busy week for with 3 matches in 8 days. 8 players, including four pairs playing together for the first time, braved some chilly conditions and came away with 1 win and 2 draws 🥶👫🏻🎾. Some fun, friendly and enjoyable games. Well played everyone 👏🏻

It's been a slow start to Churston's winter campaign, only a third of the way through with 4 matches played and 8 remaining! With most of the A team out of action this season, players from the 🅰️and🅱️team have pulled together and joined forces to ensure Churston remains represented in the league. It's been a great chance for everyone to mix in, try out new partnerships and has allowed new faces to make their league debuts! 👏🏻😁

Hopefully the weather will play ball and we can squeeze in our remaining fixtures which now come thick and fast!! Good Luck everyone. Have fun 🎾

The mixed team have had quite a rollercoaster ride this summer in a very competitive division 1🎢. Many teams had up and down results contributing to a very tight leaderboard throughout the season.

Churston have had to settle for the runners up spot for the past three years and were itching to go one better. The team flew out of the blocks at the start of the summer, firmly grabbing the top spot on the table, a position they did not relinquish until the final match of the season had been played. Despite limited player availability and a number of season ending injuries, Churston persevered and came within a whisker of the division title 🤏🏻. Although the team had the most wins this season (11 out of 14), a few hiccups and a couple of underwhelming performances meant they fell agonisingly short of the trophy by 2 points to eventual league winners Torquay 🫣😞.

Churston can be incredibly proud of what they have achieved despite the disappointment of such a close run loss. Finishing in second place represents a job well done and all players should give themselves a pat on the back 🥈👏🏻. The team has maintained a high level of consistency and will look to keep it going this winter.
