Welcome to Churston Golf Club, I doubt you will find a golf course in the south west in a more idyllic location or in better condition then Churston. It sits proudly overlooking Torbay running east to west from Churston to Brixham. Established in the late 1800’s Churston endeavours to uphold the best traditions of golf and golf clubs and yet still trying to meet the needs of the current member and

discerning visitor. Before and after playing the modern, light and well equipped Clubhouse and professional and friendly staff will ensure all your needs are taken the very best care of. A newly acquired fleet of buggies gives an added dimension to golf at Churston, so whether on holiday as a treat or a necessity, hiring a buggy will enhance your enjoyment even more. We welcome weddings, functions, events and parties. We have an excellent function room and bar with dancefloor facilities. We also have impressive seminar rooms for hire. Please contact our Manager who will be very willing to help you plan your event.

We are incredibly proud to be hosting a very special Exhibition Day featuring the Golfing with Disability Golf Team at Churston Golf Club. Andy, who is leading the team and initiative played for England in Italy recently.

This is about so much more than a game of golf. It is about inclusion, opportunity and celebrating the fact that golf truly is a sport for everyone, whatever your ability.

To welcome a member of the England Disability Golf Team to Churston is a fantastic honour and a wonderful opportunity for our club to support and showcase golf for all abilities.

Our Captain, Ian Curnoe, is leading the day and we are looking forward to making it a memorable occasion and a great representation of what Churston Golf Club stands for.

🌱⛳ THANK A GREENKEEPER DAY ⛳🌱

Today is the perfect opportunity to appreciate the six people who spend their days trying to make Churston Golf Club look its best despite the weather, golfers, machinery and Mother Nature doing everything possible to stop them! 😂

So a massive THANK YOU to:

The alarm goes off when most people are still asleep and before the first golfer has even reached the car park, the green keeping team are already out there mowing, rolling, watering, repairing, raking, topdressing, fertilising and generally trying to keep everything alive! 😂

And of course, no greenkeeping team would be complete without hearing:

“Why are the greens so slow?”
“Why are the greens so fast?”
“Why have you hollow tined them?”
“Why can't I stop the ball?”😂😂

It’s a job where everyone notices what you haven’t done, but very few notice everything you have!

Behind every good golf course is a greenkeeping team who care passionately about what they do, and we’re lucky to have a great bunch at Churston.

So today, if you see Kelvin, Ash, Dave, Jacob, Rory or Luke, give them a wave, buy them a coffee or better still, don’t ask them when the greens will be ready! 😂☕Even better, just say thank you, appreciation goes a long way!

🏆 THE BALDRY SALVER A PROUD CHURSTON TRADITION 🏆

A wonderful afternoon celebrating one of Churston Golf Club’s most prestigious and fiercely contested competitions!

Immediate Past Lady Captain Julie Garnett had the honour of presenting the Baldry Salver to this year’s worthy winner, Kate Field. 👏

The competition is open to all Past Lady Captains and, as you can imagine, competition is always fierce, not least because there’s the added glory of seeing your name proudly displayed on the Honours Boards! 🏆✨

And this year’s contest certainly lived up to expectations…

🥈 Anne Granville — 39 points

A fantastic winning score from Kate and an excellent performance from Anne, congratulations to you both! 👏⛳

The presentation was followed by the ever-popular Past Lady Captains’ Dinner, always a lovely evening and a fantastic opportunity to celebrate friendship, tradition and the wonderful history of Churston’s Lady Captains. 🥂❤️

🏆 South Devon League – Season Review 🏆

As our season came to an end today, we can look back with plenty of pride after setting out to defend the title we won in 2025.

The results may not have gone our way this time, but the team spirit has been fantastic throughout, and that’s something we can be incredibly proud of.

A massive positive has been having four juniors represent the team this season, the future is definitely bright! ⛳️👏

A huge thank you to team captains Ross & Ash Millar for their commitment throughout the season, and to Club Captain Ian Curnoe for his fantastic support at every match. 👏

Congratulations to Stover GC on winning the South Devon League this season, thoroughly deserved! 🏆👏

Thanks to everyone who has represented and supported the team this year.
