Welcome to the University of Bristol (UoB) Archery information page

For information about how to start shooting with us, session times, membership prices, competitions and much more; check out our website at www.uobarchery.com Regardless of if you're already an archer or are interested in taking it up for the first time, we want you to come join us! On this page you'll find out a bit about our club and what we're up to; as well as some information & news about archery in general for those of you new to the sport. Most information can be found on our website: www.uobarchery.com

We are part of the Bristol SU, and you can get the club membership on our SU page: https://www.bristolsu.org.uk/groups/archery-18a7

Our club is proud to be open and welcoming to anyone who wishes to take up archery. So if you want to get involved in the sport, we want you to. All our competitions have categories for Gents / Ladies, novice (those who have not held national archery membership before September of this year) / experienced, longbow / barebow / freestyle / compound. So if you want to represent your university; you can. However, whilst these categories do exist, we go to the competitions together & we train together. So regardless of if you want to compete or not, or what category you may fit into; you'll be shooting alongside everyone else.

We shoot indoors at Coombe Di**le every Wednesday (19:30 - 22:00), Friday (19:00 - 22:00) and Sunday (9:00 - 12:00). Once we get to around the end of the 2nd term, we start transitioning to outdoor shooting (also at Coombe Di**le) which will be arranged nearer the time.

The one behind it all - your social media officer!

Hi I’m Maja! I’ve been shooting for over a decade now for Cleve Archers and the county and joined UOB Archery in my first year! This will now be my third year in the club and second as social media officer! Out of all my years shooting, the first year in this club was the most welcoming and part of a community I’d felt, with people of a similar age and like-minded to me. I’m excited to get to know all the new and lovely faces over the year at our give it a gos, beginners courses and more! And most importantly to document all of it!

Your Social Sec!

Hi I’m Adam, I joined archery in my first year on a whim to try a new random sport, and ended up finding a great passion for it. As your social sec, my mission is to ensure everybody enjoys the social culture in the society, meeting people and solidifying friendships. Whether you’re a regular or new to society, can’t wait to see you in September!

Our second of 2 Equipment Officers!

Hi, I’m Will. I joined archery in my second year of uni. I might not have the best technique but it’s been made fun by the people and the silly things | get up to, like impersonating the Aber president. I look forward to being an official equipment officer rather than the shadow one, and I hope to keep on top of the amazing work done last year!

Our first Equipment Officer!

Hi, I’m Thilona! I joined Bristol Archery in my third year after deciding I wanted to try something new. What began as trying something new quickly became one of the highlights of my university experience. While I enjoy the challenge of improving my own shooting, it’s the people and sense of community that have kept me coming back. As Development Officer, I want to help create that same welcoming environment for everyone, whether you’re picking up a bow for the first time, looking to improve your technique, or thinking about competing. I’m always happy to help however | can, so if you have any questions or just fancy a chat, feel free to come and say hello! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the shooting line!
