Pomphrey Hill was built on sport. Now, we’re building on that heritage to become a community hub.

A place where people can play, meet, connect, contribute and belong. A place where community has space to grow.

But we don’t want to decide what that future looks like on our own. Throughout September, we’re inviting local people, clubs, groups, businesses and organisations to share their thoughts and ideas.

We’re pleased to announce that Alex Withers has recently been appointed as Chairman.

Since joining the Board of Trustees, Alex has played a key role in supporting the charity's growth and development, most recently serving as Vice Chairman. With a strong passion for community, innovation and long-term sustainability, he is excited to lead the next chapter of Pomphrey Hill's journey as a thriving community hub.

As Pomphrey Hill continues its journey from a traditional sports venue to a thriving community hub, Alex will work alongside our trustees, staff, volunteers and partners to create opportunities for people to connect, contribute and thrive.

On his appointment, Alex said:

"I'm honoured to be appointed Chairman of Pomphrey Hill. Sport helped shape the organisation, but our future is about even more than that. We have a unique opportunity to create a place where people feel welcome, supported and connected, and I’m looking forward to continuing the great work we have been doing.
One of my priorities is listening. Over the coming months, I'd love to hear ideas, feedback and aspirations from everyone who uses and values Pomphrey Hill. Whether through our upcoming Community Evening, conversations around the site, or through other agreement with the charity, your voice can help shape what comes next.
