The first meeting of the new season is complete, with our members coming together to prepare for another busy year of rugby.

🤝 We are delighted to officially begin our partnership with Lampiers Financial Planning https://www.lampiers.com, who will be supporting the Bristol Referees Society through to 2029. Spot us in Yellow this season as our first choice 👔👔

📖 Laws revised – making sure we’re all up to date and ready for the challenges ahead. Especially with those alterations to the maul. Do you know your law??

🏉🏉 **COMMUNITY RUGBY – A SAFE START FOR EVERYONE** 🏉🏉

As a Referees’ Society, we fully support the decision to delay the start of the competitive community game season until the **week commencing Monday 21 September**.

After a prolonged period of dry weather, many pitches remain hard and unsuitable for full-contact rugby. This is particularly important for referees and players as everyone returns to competitive rugby and builds back up to match intensity.

A short delay gives clubs, players, coaches, volunteers **and match officials** the opportunity to prepare properly and, most importantly, return to competitive rugby safely.

📅 **Competitive community rugby starts from 21 September** 📆

As referees, our priority is to help provide a safe, fair and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in the game.

We look forward to seeing clubs, players, coaches, volunteers and fellow officials back on the pitch when conditions are right.

**Stronger together 💪🏻. Safer together 🩹.**

Phew 😮‍💨… what busy final weekend to the 2025/2026 rugby season. Awards handed out, a night to remember had by all topped off by the RFU Country Cup Finals. Thank you to for an amazing Friday night for our 133rd annual dinner and to for hosting the finals Saturday morning.
To all teams both players and match officials thank you for your service this season, enjoy the off period and see you fresh and ready for the 2026/2027 season 🏉🏉🏉🏉🏉 ✔️
