🚨 🚴Riding The Wrecker: Land’s End → London (740 km & 10,500 m of Climbing, 65% off road!) Over the August Bank Holiday to Support Broad Plain RFC 🚨🚴
Please see below and support our U7’s Coach who is taking on this incredible challenge to help much needed for our young people.
Hi, I’m Wai Lee — one of the U7 coaches at Broad Plain Rugby Club, and dad to Nye, who plays in the U7s.
Why I’m Fundraising:
Broad Plain RFC is a brilliant community club that gives young players a place to build confidence, make friends, and enjoy rugby in a supportive environment. As a grassroots club, we rely heavily on volunteers and fundraising to keep everything running for the kids.
The Challenge: The Wrecker
This August Bank Holiday weekend, I’ll be taking on The Wrecker — an ultra‑distance cycling event that goes from Land’s End all the way to London, covering:
740 km
10,500 m of climbing — almost 8 times the height of Ben Nevis or over 45 Dundrys.
65% off‑road terrain
Totally unsupported-No stages or accommodation: Carrying my own camp gear and stopping when I need to.
My first ever ultra‑cycling race
And easily the longest and toughest ride I’ve ever attempted
It’s a massive physical and mental challenge for me… which is exactly why I’m doing it to support the club.
How You Can Help:
Every donation — big or small — will go directly towards supporting Broad Plain RFC, helping us provide kit, equipment, and opportunities for young players like Nye and his teammates.
❤️ Thank You
Your support means a huge amount to me, to the U7s, and to the whole Broad Plain community.
Thank you for helping keep this fantastic club thriving!
