Lou Lachman, Energy Counselling

Lou Lachman, Energy Counselling I invite you to counselling in a warm and supportive place, where you can find a way forwards that fits with what you want for yourself.

Energy Counselling is about resonance, and trusting our bodies and inner parts, so that we can come into our life empowered and present, ready to step into the life we want. As a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited counsellor, I offer a safe, confidential, ethical and effective practice. Please contact me for an appointment. I am a Humanistic, Body-centred, Multi-Cultur

al Psychotherapist and Counsellor. While I appreciate that can be difficult for many of us to come into counselling. I will make this as easy as possible. In fact, if we are not a good fit, I will help you find another counsellor that suits your needs. Often through attending counselling we want to address issues that cause us pain. This pain or difficulty can take many forms, it could be

- physical pain, like muscle aches
- emotional pain, like depression
- mental pain, like anxiety
- spiritual pain, like a sense of purposelessness and alienation

Counselling works to address all of these levels of awareness. As you listen to yourself and see through the eyes of different parts of yourself, you become able to comfort those parts and develop skills that help you to become free of emotional patterns that keep you repeating the same relationships or the same patterns of behaviour. Counselling is focused on supporting you to become more aware of your own resources in the present moment. We will work together to find what your resources are. Some of these resources are skills you already have and ways of being that you already know. I will teach you some new skills too, which will assist you to remain balanced and relaxed in the face of difficulties. Counselling can help with most issues, some issues I specialise in:
trauma, sexual abuse, incest, childhool neglect
addiction, co-dependence
bullying at work, exam nerves
grief and loss
cancer and issues related to long term illness (ME and fibromyalgia), chronic pain
anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation
stress, phobias, anxiety, fears, panic attacks
difficulties with goal achievement or confidence
compulsive habits, OCD
Insomnia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
overwhelming emotions

This is the moment that changed everything for me.

I share it because I know I'm not the only one who has felt that way. And I know freedom is possible, because I found it on that floor.

That freedom is yours too. Come see what I mean.

You can only give what you actually have.

And if you're running on empty, you're not really showing up for anyone, not even yourself. You’re pretending you’re there when you’re somewhere else.

Listening to yourself isn't selfish. It's the foundation of everything.

Today is the New Moon.

And it's also Energy Reset day — a circle I hold for people who are ready to come back to themselves, not as a project, but as a practice.

Before I go into quiet mode to prepare, I want to leave you with this:
→ What would it look like to protect your softness for the next 24 hours?

Not perform it. Not explain it. Just — give it a little room.

Maybe that's saying no to one thing that drains you.
Maybe that's five minutes of stillness before the day starts.
Maybe it's simply letting yourself want what you want without immediately questioning it.

If you're joining us in the circle today, I'll see you there. 🌑
If not, I hope you find your own version of this.

Drop below: one small way you're protecting yourself today.

Tomorrow is the New Moon.

And whether or not you track lunar cycles, something tends to shift around this time. A quieter pull. A sense that something is ready to be seen.

I've been sitting with this question all week:
→ If you slowed down enough to hear yourself clearly, what truth might rise to the surface?

Not a dramatic truth necessarily. Sometimes it's the quietest ones that matter most.

"I need rest more than I need to prove anything right now."
"I've been trying to hold this alone for too long."
"Something in me is ready — even if I can't see the path yet."

I'm creating space for this exact kind of inquiry in Energy Reset this Sunday, June 14. A small circle. An hour to come home to yourself.

Link in bio if you want to join us.

For now, I'd love to hear what's rising for you. Share below if you feel called.

There's this thing we do where we minimise the weight of what we're carrying.

"It's fine, it's not that big a deal."
"Other people have it so much harder."
"I should be over this by now."

But the nervous system doesn't grade on a curve.

Whatever you've been holding, the quiet worry, the grief you haven't named, the tension you keep pushing past — it's real, and it counts.

So today I'm asking gently:
→ What's one 'small' thing you've been carrying that isn't actually small?

You don't have to explain it. You can just name it here.

When things feel like too much, I used to push through like it was a personality trait.

Head down. Keep going. Don't stop long enough to feel it.

Sound familiar?

There are a few ways we tend to respond when we're overwhelmed — and none of them are wrong, they're just patterns. Usually ones we learned when we had no other option.

Lately I've been sitting with this question:
→ What do you tend to do when you're overwhelmed — push through, shut down, overthink, or over-function?

(Honestly, I cycle through all four depending on the week.)

Comment with yours, and if you're open to it, what you wish you could do instead.

When everything feels like too much, this practice is one place to begin.

Hands on your chest. Breathing. Listening to what your body is trying to tell you.

It sounds simple. And it is. But connecting isn’t always easy. Yet this contact is where freedom begins.

Try this exercise and see what shifts for you. I'd love to hear what comes up.

Most people think presence is about clearing your mind or forcing yourself to calm down. It's not.

Your body already has its own way of finding its way back. The problem is we don't slow down long enough to let it work.

In this episode with Sana on The Mindful Living Podcast, we talked about why "just be present" can feel impossible when your nervous system doesn't feel safe yet, and what to do instead.

My emotions are a message and sometimes they’re overwhelming. I needed ways to calm my system down so that I could feel connected to myself. I didn’t know I was disconnected, but I was. The tools I teach help you to have some control.
