A brilliant all-round performance from our 2nd XI this weekend, as the boys secured a strong 48-run victory over Stapleton CC (Bristol) 3rd XI.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, BSLCC posted a competitive 212/9 from their 40 overs. Sanjaya led the way with an excellent 52 from 52 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes, while Weshan narrowly missed out on a half-century with a superb 49 from 45 balls, striking 10 boundaries. Jeevan added a useful 21, with Inoshan, Navam and Dhanushka also chipping in to help push the total beyond 200.

The bowlers then backed it up in style, dismissing Stapleton for 164 in 36.2 overs. Sanjaya completed a fantastic all-round display with the ball, taking 4 wickets for just 9 runs from 2.2 overs. Asanka and Naufel picked up two wickets apiece, while Inoshan also struck as BSLCC kept control of the chase.

A special mention to Sanjaya, who was deservedly named BSLCC Man of the Match for his match-winning 52 and outstanding spell with the ball.

A great team performance and an excellent win for the 2nd XI. Well played, boys.

A hard-fought win for our 1st XI this weekend, as the lads secured a 3-wicket victory over Old Bristolians Westbury CC 2nd XI.

After winning the toss and electing to field first, BSLCC produced a disciplined performance with the ball to bowl Old Bristolians Westbury out for 129 in 28 overs. Thiyanan was outstanding, taking 5-18 from his 7 overs, while Sachintha gave excellent support with 3-17 from 4 overs. Chinthaka also picked up a wicket as the bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings.

In reply, BSLCC had to work hard for the chase. Thiyanan got things moving with 15 from 18 balls, but wickets fell at regular intervals and the innings needed someone to settle it down. Deepal then played a crucial knock, scoring 42 from 55 balls with 6 fours, anchoring the chase and putting the lads in position to get over the line. Dhaham also showed great patience with an unbeaten 14 from 73 balls, helping guide the team to 130/7 in 33.1 overs.

A special mention to Thiyanan, who was named BSLCC Man of the Match for his match-winning five-wicket haul.

A gritty team performance, built on a brilliant bowling display, and calm heads in the chase. Well played, lads.

A spirited effort from our 2nd XI this weekend, but the lads fell short against Bristol Mavericks CC 1st XI, who secured a 70-run victory.

After Bristol Mavericks won the toss and elected to bat first, they posted a strong 285/5 from their 40 overs. Roshan led the way with the ball for BSLCC, picking up 3 wickets, while Inoshan also claimed a wicket as the team worked hard to keep the pressure on.

In reply, BSLCC battled their way to 215 all out in 32.2 overs. Shehan produced a brilliant innings at the top of the order, scoring an excellent 104 from 75 balls, including 10 fours and 7 sixes. Jeevan added a valuable 37, while Inoshan chipped in with a quick 17 late on.

A special mention to Shehan for a superb century and a standout performance with the bat.

Not the result the boys wanted, but plenty of fight shown and positives to take into the next one. Well played, lads.
