Whether you've played before or are new to the game, we welcome all ladies from 18+ of any ability. We have a number of socials, around 2-3 a month and have a great team spirit on the pitch. History:
St Mary's Old Boys Ladies were forme
d in 1997, playing against the likes of Avonmouth, Chew Valley Cats, Gordano & Clifton 2's. Each year since then the ladies team has gone from strength to strength, not only in the number of players, but the achievements gained over the years. The highest level they have played is at level 3 of the Women's RFU structure when for 2 seasons from 2009-2011. They played in the RFU Championship South West 2 where they played against London Welsh, Plymouth Albion, Henley and Oakmeadians. The ladies team currently play in the RFU Women's NC 1 South West which is at level 4 of the Women's RFU structure allowing the ladies to develop further as a team and push to be playing at the higher levels. St Mary's Old Boys Ladies also have a girls section aimed at encouraging girls who are already playing rugby within the mini's & junior leagues, to continue their development at St Mary's. This is also open to beginners as well as girls with any level of experience, with the hope that they can then progress on to feed the Senior Ladies Section.
