Dancehall is a form of Jamaican street dance which started in downtown Kingston as they were not allowed to attend the uptown dances. It evolved from Reggae in the 1970s into an upbeat electronic style. To be a dancehall dancer can be a career for the best in Jamaica. They get hired to attend the most prominent parties. For class, wear comfortable clothing and bring a drink.
