⚽️ First Team Manager Opportunity ⚽️

Southmead Ladies FC is looking for a leader who believes in more than just results.

We’re searching for someone who can help drive the club forward, build a positive culture, and create an environment where players can develop and succeed. With a strong foundation already in place, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of the team.

Looking ahead, strengthening the pathway between our youth and senior sections will become increasingly important over the next few years. We’re keen to find someone who recognises the value of this progression and can help ensure the club continues to grow sustainably for the future.

As we prepare for the new season, we’re also looking for an injection of new players into the squad. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about recruitment, player development, and building a competitive team spirit both on and off the pitch.

If you’re an ambitious coach or manager who enjoys developing players, building culture, and being part of a community-focused club, we’d love to hear from you.

A perfect way to end the Reserve Teams season! 💚⚽

Despite us not being able to fulfil all of our fixtures this season, this team never gave up and always kept fighting.

To finish our final game with an 8-0 win is a credit to every player involved.

Ladies, what a fantastic way to finish the season! I'm incredibly proud of every single one of you who pulled on the shirt this year. The effort and team spirit you've shown throughout the season have been outstanding, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us, roll on next season💚

Today's Player of the Match goes to Jess Mortell. Absolutely phenomenal performance on the wing from the first whistle to the last. Jess ran her socks off, put in some huge tackles, drove forward brilliantly with the ball, and seemed to be everywhere on the pitch. To top it all off, she got herself on the scoresheet too. A well deserved award well done, Jess! 👏

🟢⚪️ THE RESERVES ARE BACK ⚪️🟢

After a few weeks away since the 3rd May, the ladies are finally dusting their boots off and dragging the kit bags back out the cupboard ready for matchday action! 👟👜

This Sunday our Reserves return to action for their final game of the season as we take on Wessex Wanderers Women at Pen Park Sports Pavilion. 💪

SOUTHMEAD 8 - 2 LONGLEVENS

A brilliant performance from the ladies today as we came away with a huge 8-2 victory over Longlevens. From the first whistle, the team got the ball down, played proper football and showed real quality throughout the pitch. Every player worked hard for each other and when we got into attacking areas, we were absolutely clinical in front of goal.

We moved the ball with confidence, created chances consistently and showed a ruthless edge that made the difference. It was one of those performances where everything clicked - high energy, great teamwork and a real determination to keep pushing right until the final whistle.

🏆 POTM: Paige & Vicky

Paige - back to her very best. Cut throat in front of goal and brought the best out of the players around her in forward positions. No brainer when you score 5 in a game.

Vicky - really strong performance in the middle of the park. Constantly looked to play football, delivered some great balls in from corners to create chances and all topped off with a postage stamp goal in the top corner from the free kick.

🥶 DOTD: Kayleigh

Refusing to head the ball in a dangerous area, and telling Martyn she knew what he was gunna say and she’s ignoring him anyway, whilst still chasing the striker and eventually clearing the ball. To funny not to award it to her 🤣

A special message from the Interim Management Team, Martyn & Cameron:

“Since coming in mid-season, every single player has given us everything. The commitment, attitude and togetherness from this group has been unbelievable and we honestly can’t thank the ladies enough for sticking by us, believing in what we’re trying to do and continuing to fight for the badge every week.

Today was our last game in charge, so to finish with a dominant performance like that made it even more special. The ladies fully deserved it and we’re proud of every single one of them.”

Another massive team performance and a brilliant way to sign off for the firsts.

Our Ladies First Team travel to face Longlevens AFC Ladies 1st tomorrow evening in the last game of the season. The squad have worked incredibly hard all year and would love to end the campaign on a high 💪

A massive performance from the First Team yesterday as we came away with a brilliant 3-0 win away to Olveston United! 💚⚽

The scoreline only tells part of the story - every player put in a battling performance from first whistle to last, showing determination, teamwork, and quality all over the pitch. 💪

POTM: Gracie - for someone who isn’t available regularly and is new to the Mead this season she has settled in so well. Energy in the middle of the pitch, battled hard and was composed on the ball. Huge well done!

DOTD: Liv (AKA Mike Tyson) - an easy pick after she decided to throw a failed haymaker near the end of the game. After specifically being told to go on and calm things down, she decided an early exit and a 3 game ban was the best way to leave the field of play.

A real team performance with hard work, commitment, and some excellent football on show. Proud of every single player and a huge thanks for the support from the sidelines!💚🤍
