✍️ NEW SIGNING | OLI WINTERBOTTOM

We’re delighted to welcome Oli Winterbottom to Frampton Cotterell RFC.

Arriving from a strong rugby league background with Bristol All Golds, Oli joins the club after representing England Universities Rugby League and earning repeat selection for the 2026 squad. A proven try-scorer and goal kicker, he brings pace, athleticism and plenty of attacking threat to the backs.

We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do in green, black and gold.

Despite extensive scouting, several pie shops, and countless Sunday roasts, we’re still on the lookout for a few more props.

Today Frampton Cotterell RFC were proud to host Southern Spartans Visually Impaired Rugby Club.

Visually impaired rugby is an adapted version of the game that allows players with varying levels of sight loss to enjoy all the benefits of rugby through teamwork, competition and community.

Some facts about visual impairment:
• Over 2.2 billion people worldwide live with a vision impairment.
• More than 340,000 people in the UK are registered as blind or partially sighted.
• Sport and physical activity can play a vital role in improving confidence, wellbeing and social connection.

A huge thank you to Southern Spartans for joining us and to everyone who helped make the day possible. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about inclusive rugby and see first-hand how the game can be adapted so that everyone has the chance to play.

This Saturday 6th June, 11 AM – 1 PM, we’re opening the gates for a special event celebrating inclusion, teamwork, and the love of rugby.

Strong leadership for the 2nd XV heading into the new season 💚🖤💛

A huge boost for the club as old war horse Sam Rumley comes out of retirement to lead the 2s setup 👊

Alongside him, Rich Mortimer steps into coaching after suffering a nasty leg break last season. To come back around the club and help lead the 2s says everything about the bloke and the character within this group.

Two top lads, massive club men and a huge part of what we’re building at Frampton.
