This month our Personal Trainer Luke, and his partner Charlotte, are taking part in the 60 Miles in September challenge for the Epilepsy Society 💜
Find out more below…
“I’ve set myself a challenge, alongside my partner, Charlotte, for a charity that has become very close to my heart.
Throughout September, we’ll each be walking / running 60 miles (96.5km) to raise money for the Epilepsy Society.
My partner had a debilitating, seizure-filled childhood, so I know how important the work of the Epilepsy Society can be to people and their families, and I can’t put into words what a difference their work could make.
Any donation, big or small, will help support their incredible work — and give me a little extra motivation when my legs and lungs inevitably start complaining.
▪️ £75 could pay for lab equipment such as PCR tubes, essential for DNA extraction and research into seizure control.
▪️ £240 could fund trained Helpline operators supporting 10 callers with concerns around living with epilepsy, including parents and carers.
▪️ £400 could provide 10 hours of focused work from one of the charity’s world-class researchers, helping push forward discoveries towards a seizure-free future for children.
I’ll be running outdoors and in, hiking, ditching the car in favour of walking to and from work, and the poor dogs won’t know what they’ve got coming - they’ll be sleeping all of October once this is done 🐶 We’ll be documenting the challenge along the way — probably with sweaty (and increasingly rain-soaked) photos included.
Thank you very much for reading, donation or no, please help spread the word.” 🥰
