Brighton Aikikai Study Aikido with us in Brighton, UK
Mondays, Fridays
Chris Kent's Kicks, 185 Lewes Road The name itself roughly translates to The Way of Harmonising Energy.

Aikido is an empty-handed, weapons-derived martial-art with an emphasis on harmonising with the movement of an attacker. Through training we learn to physically and mentally exhaust aggression; to prevent or neutralise violence when confronted with the temptation to use it. There are no special demands on height, weight, age or fitness, so it can be studied by anyone. Developed in Japan by Morihei

Ueshiba during the last century, the spirit of his teaching evolves today through many who have been inspired by his skill and philosophy. At Brighton Aikikai we are particularly influenced by Christian Tissier Shihan and our club is lead by Phil Rozier, 5th dan Aikikai.
