Preston Park parkrun

Preston Park parkrun www.parkrun.org.uk/prestonpark is a free 5k run held every Saturday at 9am in Preston Park, Brighton.

We welcome runners, joggers and walkers, dogs (must be on a short lead), under 11s (in arm's reach of their adult) and buggies. Preston Park parkrun ([email protected]) is part of the worldwide parkrun family, 5k runs at the same time every Saturday (9 am in Engkand and Wales), completely free with no registration fee and no fee to run each week. You can register at www.parkrun.org.uk/register and www.parkrun.com is the parent webpage, from here you can see details of all 200+ runs around the world, you can turn up at any of these with your barcode and run. parkrun is completely organised by volunteers, if you run it would be good if you would also volunteer 3 times a year although running isn't compulsory for volunteers, if you are unable to run but would like to be part of parkrun to support other runners and enjoy the social side then please come along and help

We welcome runners/joggers of any standard, if you can run 5k in 15 mins then use it as part of your training, if you can do it in 45/50 mins then come along to have some exercise, get a bit fitter and socialise with us. We encourage runners to join us at the chalet cafe for coffee and a chat after the run. Preston Park parkrun would like to thank Brighton and Hove Council for their financial support in getting our run started.

If you got home and found you have the wrong jacket and it doesn't have your inhaler in the pocket please let us know - there were 2 similar jackets on the cafe window sill and you've done a swop - we know who's got yours!

In all this heat though please do take care to make sure Fido is cool and hydrated.

There is water available from the loos at the Chalet Cafe, and this useful chart gives some advice on safe temperatures for dogs…
