Yesterday I was crazy busy, sessions all morning and all evening, client check in's, and lots of work to catch up on.
All this meant I missed my standard training time around lunch. By the time I got my head up, it was 3 pm, and I knew I had an evening of sessions ahead and didn't fancy working out in the slightest. This is usually the moment where I tell you that I sucked it up and I trained anyway, and that's what you must do if you want results, blah blah blah!
Well, it isn't. I didn't. I honestly couldn't be bothered!
This isn't normal for me. I would usually find time and motivation to do a little something, but yesterday it wasn't happening.
I am sure you have days like this as well.
Work is crazy; everything you had planned seems to take longer than expected; you look at the clock and wonder where the day has gone.
You're losing motivation for the gym minute by minute, and you talk yourself in and out of going fifty times over!
Then you make the decision,
"I'M NOT DOING IT."
And then comes the guilt, that nagging feeling that you're missing out, your whole regime and fitness levels will crumble before you. So why didn't you go? It only would have taken an hour!
But let's be real here. That's life; it happens, some days are better than others, some days you're tired, too busy, or cannot face the thought of the gym! It's not like whether one workout is done or missed is going to make or break your training! The key here is to get back on the horse straight away, make sure you don't miss two or three sessions or a whole week.
Don't make missing sessions a habit. Instead, make it a one-off thing and hit your next session as usual.
If you do that, the missed session will fade into nothing, and you won't have put yourself back in any way.
Life happens; move on and get back to normal as quickly as possible
