🥳 Recently we’ve featured lots of reports about the successes of the beginner bowlers at Brighouse.
🔝 However, today, we’re talking about our top bowlers.
⭐️ Brighouse plays in some of the highest divisions in a range of leagues across the week. We are also proud to have players that regularly play at county level.
🏆 Yesterday, was the semi-final of The Pilling Cup. Like other sports, CGB also has cup competitions running alongside leagues during the season.
🤝 In this latest semi-final fixture, Brighouse drew very worthy opponents in Morton House Bowling Club, playing at a neutral green, Cleckheaton Bowling Club.
🫡 Brighouse Team Captain, Rob Hopper, assembled a motley crew of degenerates with a combined CGB experience of over 2592732 years and the capacity to drink at least twice that number in pints of beer.
🤩 It was an excellent match; exciting to the finish with Brighouse ultimately securing the win.
💪 Brighouse showed what a team club they are; all working together to secure every point possible. Experience, and of course skill, was at the forefront of the game with significant tenacity, resilience and strength on show, which lead the way to victory.
❤️ Most importantly, the best thing about the game - the team spirit, camaraderie and banter - was at an all-time high. All our players enjoyed the fixture, fully supporting each and every player during their time on the green and they were all buzzed & energised by the win and their place in the upcoming final.
🏆 We’re now looking forward to playing in The Pilling Cup Final next Friday against another team of worthy opponents, this time Chapel Street Bowling Club, to be played at another neutral green, Heckmondwike Bowling Club.
