Rothwell Town 1–1 Brighouse Town U14 oranges

Our first game of the season today saw us make a slightly slow start, and we found ourselves 1–0 down inside the opening 10 minutes.

The girls struggled initially to adapt to the slippery surface, which affected our ability to play out and get the ball moving in the way we know we can. It was a very stop-start game, making it difficult for us to find any real rhythm or flow.

Despite conceding early, the girls worked extremely hard and limited Rothwell to very few opportunities. As the game became a little scrappy, we created numerous chances of our own but just couldn't find that finishing touch.

We continued to push in the second half. Again, the stop-start nature of the game made it difficult to link up and play with the speed and intensity we wanted, but the girls showed glimpses of what they're capable of and deservedly got their equaliser.

From a coaching point of view, the most pleasing thing today was the girls' attitude.

They stayed positive, continued to encourage one another and stuck together in difficult circumstances.

There are plenty of things for us to learn from and work on, but that's what the start of the season is all about. We'll keep working hard, developing and pushing forward each week.

The girls showed progress today & i think the result didnt justify the way they performed.

From the off we was on the front foot, attacking them & getting shots off from everywhere. Unfortunately we couldn't turn them chance into goals, which is something we can work on in training.

Allie pulling of some amazing saves again today 🙌 along with those long balls from her hands, she will shooting from her goal soon enough 😆

Olivia was solid in that centre again. Strength & desire to win that ball back was brilliant to see along with those shots from the free kicks.

Sadie & saskia on the wings tirelessly running up & down the wings putting in a shift to win the ball back then turn & attack.
Some brilliant shots from saskia along with sadie scoring a poachers goal from a kalianna corner in only her 2nd game.

We are proud of all the girls & how they are all gelling together, congratulating and encouraging each other.

Halifax Amateurs vs Brighouse Town U9s 🍊⚽️

First away game of the season for the girls, and they battled through some tough weather conditions to put in another great performance! 🌧️⚽️

Once again, we saw some brilliant football, great teamwork and plenty of improvement from the Tiny Towners. We couldn’t be prouder of how they continue to grow and enjoy their football! 🧡

A huge well done to Betsy, who was awarded Player of the Match for an amazing performance in goal, along with some fantastic tackles! 🏆👏

Clifton Rangers Fire u13 (4) V Brighouse Town u13 Oranges (0)

Today saw the Oranges play a well organised, experienced Clifton team.

Clifton started strong playing their passing game using their physicality and playing out from the back. The Oranges dug deep and applied the press, trying to turn the ball over but Clifton defence were just too strong for the team today.

After a fairly evenly battled 15 minutes Clifton took the lead with their first goal of the game. The Brighouse defence worked hard and we saw some great quick thinking from Pippa in goal, who showed confidence and commitment coming out to close down any opportunities Clifton had.

As the first half continued the Oranges started to find that drive with the midfield making strong tackles and driving forward with the ball. The team were unlucky not to have scored before half time with a few shots just off target.

The second half saw both the Oranges and Clifton change their formations. Brighouse started well challenging Clifton in the midfield, unfortunately the new Clifton formation caused the oranges some issues and despite Brighouse working hard throughout Clifton went on to score 3 more goals in the second half.

Thank you to Pippa and Eliza for going in to goal, both made some great saves, clearing the ball away when needed and closing down the space when Clifton attacked.

Midfield today ran their socks off, Harriet, Orla, Sara, Pixie, Eliza, Alexis and Emily you should be proud of your selves being brave and challenging a strong midfield throughout the game.

Our defence, Esme, Ivy and Poppy gave it their all, and stood their ground, making some great tackles and supporting each other.

Alexis today put her body on the line from the first minute where a strong challenge came in and saw Alexis on the floor to her shielding the ball and making driving runs through the midfield. We have seen Alexis become more confident and enjoying her football more each week and today’s display showed us just how much.

Parents player of the game:
🧡Harriet🧡

Harriet started as a striker today and made some strong determined runs with the ball, demonstrated some great footwork, taking shots when she had the opportunity. The second half Harriet was moved to midfield where alongside Orla they managed to start moving the ball quicker and drive forward.

Oppositions player of the game:
🧡 Orla🧡
Midfield maestro, she controlled the midfield, ran the whole game and played some fantastic football looking to get the team forward. Alongside Harriet in the second half they started to find the Brighouse way of playing, making driving runs and Orla put in some phenomenal strong challenges today

Ryburn 5-3 Brighouse Town U14 Greens

Slow start today meant we struggled to react to ryburns presses , conceded 2 unlucky goals in first ten so then had to work super hard to get our shape back and get our game on , however the girls did all that and more !! After a 3rd scrappy goal from Ryburn the girls really dug their heels and worked fantasticly hard together to win and maintain possession !
A beautiful ball across the box from Elsie saw Sienna smash it home for her first goal of the season 💪
Then at half time we had a chat about shape and out of possession positioning
Back out for 2nd half and the girls played some fantastic football together , communication on point and really showed for each other in that second half ! Super goal from ray saw us at 3-2 , another unlucky goal from Ryburn saw us at 4-2 and again chasing the back foot but some fantastic work in the box saw Sienna bag her second goal of the day - another unlucky breakthrough from Ryburn saw the final score at 5-3 to Ryburn . Just unlucky today girls , we played the better football and that second half had the far better shape ! Link up between Sienna ray and Bettie that second half was fab just unlucky not to convert more of our chances today 🧡
Stand out efforts from all the team today !! I couldn’t choose a player of the match as I’d have picked them all so asked the ref who picked our #91 Megan as potm 🧡
he also said to give Maria a shout out as well for being absolutely solid in that mid today 💪🎉

We’re delighted to confirm that Libby Parker will remain a Brighouse Town AFC player for the upcoming season 🟠⚫️

After an amazing first season where see picked up the most improved award, she also showed her leadership skills by being vice captain for the first team. She demonstrated her tenacity and puts 100% into every performance

There’s plenty to look forward to as she begins another chapter in orange and black. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
