We're back supporting the Fjällräven classic UK as the mountain safety team again over this week.

Everyone is checking in this evening and enjoying socialising together before all starting tomorrow.

Our 2nd full day with Airtanker was spent being spoilt by some pretty nice weather (given the weather we've had of late!) up on Scafell Pike. The team really enjoyed the route up from Seathwaite via the Corridor route, and we soaked up the lovely views as we returned via Esk Hause.

Tomorrow, we do the Via Feratta! 💪

It was a superb first full day out with 11 members of the Airtanker team. The forecast was for strong sales and showers, so we opted out of our planned walk along the Helvellyn range and went for something a tad lower.

From Keswick, we enjoyed a wonderful 'mid-level' circuit of Derwent Water, taking in Catbells and Walla Crag as we went. The weather was indeed mixed, with the jackets going on and off multiple times throughout the day!

Tomorrow, we head for Scafell Pike, and thankfully the forecast is looking quite reasonable 🤞

It was an absolute pleasure to be out on Blencathra with Gary, Laura, Sandra, Angela, Simon and Jane today.

We set off from Threlkeld with the plan of completing both Halls Fell Ridge and Sharp Edge. Halls Fell is a superb warm up for the latter, and really is a superb ridge in its own right too! It had been wet overnight and there was another early rain shower, but as we hit Halls Fell it was drying rapidly and we had a good scramble.

Sadly, just as we reached the summit, another big band of rain pushed through and we took the decision to not go near Sharp Edge. It is not a safe experience in the wet, and despite seeing others still crossing it, there would be no safe reasoning for us to go near it (not in the immediate hour or two after). After a bite to eat we descended Doddick Fell, which is yet another fab route on the mountain.

A shame we couldn't tick Sharp Edge, but the group were brilliantly understandanding of the reasons (thank you all). 🙏

It's been great to support a fab group over these last two days who have been challenging themselves with some hikes here in the Lake Diatrict in order to raise vital funds for Reverse Rett

Yesterday, the group took on England's Highest Mountain - Scafell Pike. We got very lucky with the weather, and only got rain in the final 20 minutes!

Today, we took the group on a long hike around the stunning Glenderaterra Valley, finishing up with a summit of Latrigg before heading to the Lake in Keswick.

Well done all. Thanks to Alex and Sharon for co-guiding!

📢 Nepal Flood Appeal 🆘️

Last week areas of Nepal were absolutely devastated by immense flooding. Thousands of lives have been rocked by this natural disaster.

It has been brilliant to see such a vast number of people rallying to support Nepal, with fundraisers and events being launched. The people of Nepal don't deserve this, they really are spectacular.

We have opted to once again support PHASE Worldwide , and have donated to their flood appeal.

We supported Phase Worldwide back in 2017 & 2018 when we hosted two Lakeland Festival of Light events in order to raise funds for their projects in Nepal. They are a highly reputable and impactful charity. If you are able to make a donation through their link, you'll know it'll make it to the people that need it.

It's been a bit Scafell-tastic these last few days!

Friday: taking a small team from Millenium Care up via Mickledore. The group loved the atmospheric climb through the rocky gully

Saturday - two groups. One day of private guiding for a group of friends, most of which hadn't ever tackled a mountain before! They all did awesome, and despite finding it quite hard at times they're keen for more. Led by Bernie

We also had an open group guided walk on, led by Dava. The group made great progress and enjoyed a descent via Lingmell Nose.

Today LMG celebrates 14 years of operation! 14!!!!

I honestly can't quite believe where that time has gone. I do love running this little company, and I'll always be thankful to each and everyone who has helped support it. Whether that be a booking, or guiding for us and delivering fantastic days out. Big thanks!!!

We had an incredible family day out with our friends over at Derwent Activities yesterday.

We rafted up some Canoes and headed for a bite to eat on St Herbert's Island. After our little feast, we collected up some litter so we knew our trip was having a positive impact and then headed back to base.

We were not only spoilt for the fact we had two Atlas A400M aircraft come across the Lake ahead of us, but we also had the unbelievable pleasure of watching a playful otter just metres away for about 20 minutes! We couldn't believe it!! The kids were overjoyed, as were we! (Check the third video)

Big shout out to Duane for inviting us down. For anyone visiting Keswick who wants to hire Canoes, Kayaks or Paddleboards, or even wants a guided day on the water (or rock!) Check out Derwent Activities on the Lodore Jetty 👍
