🏏Great win and 20 points yesterday on the road away at Caistor Town CC for our 1st XI.

🏏With a last minute, cobbled together team, we were put in to bat by Caistor. Still confident in the players we had in the side, we put on 207 from 44.5 overs.

🏏Abdul Aziz scoring 87 and Ashraful Alam with 73 not out. Special mention to Lee Fielden who played an important role in the innings early on, sticking around and putting on 70 partnership with Abdul.

🏏Fielding started off well with Skipper Owen Dunderdale and Sayed Abu opening the bowling taking 5 wickets between them, with some very tight bowling from both. Nobir Hussen took a wicket with his second ball on his debut. Including a run out, we had caistor under a lot of pressure at 22-7.

🏏Ashraful Alam came on to bowl and managed to take the remaining wickets and after some resistance from Caistor Batsman S.Meher who took their total to 68 All out from 26.4 overs.

🏏Another 20 points and a strong performance from the 1st XI. We look to next Saturday when we welcome Normanby Park CC to the Rec.

🏏Congrats to the skipper Owen Dunderdale for managing to get 11 for tomorrow’s game. On a week where we have 15+ players unavailable, we have 3 players making their debuts for the club, and 2 returning to the 1st XI.

🏏We travel the short distance down the road to Caistor Town CC as we hope to extend our lead at the top of the league, however we know it will be a tough task, Caistor are always tough opponents.

🏏12:30pm Start at Caistor’s Brigg Road Ground. Any support is welcome.

☔️💧🌧️I should’ve posted this last night but forgot, so I am sorry to anyone who came to watch and was disappointed to see no action.

🏏After a wet day in Brigg and a terrible forecast, we made the decision to call off the game yesterday.

🏏On a positive note it does mean it’s the first points on the board for the Midweek XI as we share the points with Normanby Park CC.

🏏Attention now turns to Saturday as the 1st XI travel to Caistor CC in the league.

🏏Next up for our Midweek XI it’s back to league action, at home vs Normanby Park Midweek XI. Scheduled for Thursday night weather dependent. Fingers crossed for sunshine!

🏏All support is appreciated, it’s another 6:15pm start at the rec, as we do our best to find that elusive first win of the season.

🏏Fantastic win yesterday at home vs Haxey CC. With the forecast looking like we would be unlikely to get any play in, we managed to get a full game in and take the full 20 points from the match.

🏏Haxey skipper won the toss and put us in to bat. We lost an early wicket of Danny Dewfall due to a mix up between him and Jack Richards, resulting in a run out. Abdul Aziz came in at number 3 and despite being dropped fairly early on in his innings, he made Haxey pay by scoring 121 runs before unfortunately dragging the ball onto his stumps attempting to hook the ball to the leg side. A fantastic innings from Abdul and his first century for Brigg Town CC. Here’s to many more.

🏏Ashraful Alam and Ishtiyak Rifat both added runs to the total Ash with 29 Rifat with 35. And a short cameo from Paul Neal at number 11 who added 15 to the total as we were bowled all out for 254.

🏏Haxey started off their innings solidly Sayed Abu took the first wicket of the game breaking the opening partnership. After skipper Owen and Sayed had kept the score down to a minimum, he decided it was time to try something new. Dan Bradley came on to bowl and took the wicket of Potter LBW for 15 runs.

🏏This opened the floodgates for Ashraful to tear into the Haxey middle and tail, in a brilliant spell of bowling taking 7 wickets for 18 runs from his 7.1 overs. The final wicket was a run out by the skipper Owen Dunderdale and Haxey were all out for 67.

🏏A dominant display and exactly what we needed going into next week as we take on Caistor CC 2nd XI in what will be a tough test for our 1st XI.

🏏Back to league action this week for the 1st XI, and skipper Owen Dunderdale returns, as well as vice Captain Danny Dewfall. Paul Neal is also back in the team, as well as a place in the starting XI for new signing Luke Cowling.

🏏The forecast isn’t great but fingers crossed it stays dry, as we look to build on our good form in the league, against Haxey CC 2nd XI. Any support is appreciated.

🏏The wait for a midweek win goes on unfortunately. After winning the toss and putting App Frod into bat, we kept them down to what we thought would be a reachable target. Some tight bowling and great fielding including 3 run outs meant the home side finished their 16 overs on 98-4.

🏏We got off to a bad start when Abdul Aziz was caught for 1 top edging one high and taken well by the fielder. But some good running between the wickets from Ash and Bish the skipper kept the scoreboard ticking over. We continued to lose wickets and fell short in the end with Danny Dewfall feathering one into the keepers gloves with 3 balls left and 19 runs to get.

🏏Congrats to App Frod who were a very young side that never gave up and made it very hard for us with the bat. Best of luck in the next round.

🏏We look forward to welcoming Normanby Park to the rec next week where the search for our first win continues.
