What a game. Goals, energy, smiles and plenty of attacking football from both sides in a real entertaining summer league battle 👏

Coming up against Edlington, champions from the league above, we knew this would be a proper test, so to come away with a result like that was brilliant for the lads.

After a long, tough and ultimately successful season, the main focus for us now is simple — enjoy football, have fun again, and remember why we all play the game in the first place. Sometimes getting back to basics brings the best out of players, and today showed exactly that 💛🖤

There were some really good attacking passages, plenty of character shown when momentum shifted, and most importantly lots of smiles on faces throughout.

🏅 MOM today went to Aiden.
It honestly could have gone to a handful of players today, but Aiden’s positive communication throughout the game really stood out and helped drive the team on 👏

The summer league table is starting to look interesting too 👀
Brierley currently sit 2nd, just 1 point behind the leaders with a game in hand…

Brierley Cubs U14 Yellow kicked off their summer league campaign in style with a thrilling 9–5 victory over Warren in what was an entertaining, high-energy encounter from start to finish.

With the domestic league title already secured, the pressure was well and truly off, and it showed in the way the lads approached the game. There was a real sense of freedom about their play—sharp passing, confident movement, and plenty of attacking intent. It didn’t take long for the goals to start flowing, with Bennie opening the scoring before Aiden, Kai and Harry all got in on the act. Kai was in particularly fine form, grabbing a superb hat-trick, while Tyler, Alfie and Logan also added their names to the scoresheet to cap off a dominant attacking display.

Despite the scoreline, Warren played their part in a very competitive fixture, pushing forward well and testing us at times. It made for a proper game of football, played in great spirit by both sides, with plenty of quality on show.

More than anything, this match felt like a celebration even whilst on holiday. After a long, hard-fought domestic season, the boys were able to relax, express themselves and simply enjoy their football—and that’s exactly what they did. The smiles on their faces said it all.

At full time, the celebrations continued as the team marked their league triumph in style, with flares out and plenty of cheering as they soaked in the moment together. A brilliant way to start the summer league.

Man of the Match went to Alfie, who edged out hat-trick hero Kai thanks to his outstanding attitude and versatility, playing in nearly every position and giving 100% throughout. A top performance and fully deserved recognition.

🏆 CHAMPIONS!!! BRIERLEY CUBS U14 YELLOWS 🏆

What a way to do it. What a team. What a season. 💛🖤

Brierley Cubs U14 Yellows signed off their title-winning campaign in style with a dominant 6-1 victory over West End, putting an exclamation mark on a season that will live long in the memory. From the first whistle, the intent was clear – this team weren’t just here to win a game, they were here to celebrate everything they’ve built together.

The goals flowed with quality and confidence. Archie got things rolling before Logan added his first of the day. Dylan followed up with a well-taken finish, with Logan and Dylan both grabbing their second goals to really stretch the game. Tyler rounded things off to cap a brilliant attacking display ⚽🔥

But this wasn’t just about the goals – it was about the way the lads played. Together. Relentless. Organised. Every player contributing, every player fighting for each other. It felt only right that the Man of the Match went to the entire squad – a reflection of the unbelievable team effort not just today, but across the whole season 👏

Finishing top of the league with 42 points from 16 games tells its own story. Fourteen wins. Zero draws. Just two defeats. That consistency, that hunger, that togetherness – that’s what makes champions.

A massive thank you must go to the parents for their unwavering support week in, week out, through all weathers 🙌 and to the club for providing the platform and environment for these players to thrive. This is what grassroots football is all about.

Brierley Cubs U14 1–2 Brodsworth

A tough one to take today, but plenty to be proud of.

The Cubs went head-to-head with a strong Brodsworth side and more than matched them throughout. The energy, work rate and togetherness on display showed exactly why this group are right at the top end of the league. Logan got on the scoresheet with a well-taken goal, keeping us right in the game and giving us momentum.

There were a few big moments that didn’t quite go our way — including a close goal-line effort that just wasn’t seen and a couple of tight decisions — but that’s part of football at times. What can’t be questioned is the attitude of the lads, who kept pushing, battling and playing the right way until the final whistle.

Man of the Match goes to Logan, not just for his goal but for the energy he brings every single week. His intensity is infectious and sets the tone for the whole team — a proper example of what this group is about.

And that’s the key takeaway… this changes nothing.

Everything is still in our hands. One more win and this team are CHAMPIONS. That opportunity is there because of the hard work, commitment and consistency the boys have shown all season — supported every step of the way by the parents and the club.

Today might sting, but it should only fuel us.

Heads up, stay together, and go again.

⚫️🟡 THE TITLE RACE IS STILL ON… AND THE CUBS ARE STILL LEADING IT ⚫️🟡

When the pressure is on, this team keeps standing up.

In a huge game at a huge stage of the season, Brierley Cubs U14 Yellow delivered in style with a commanding 5-0 win over Wheatley Wanderers to stay top of the league with just two games remaining. 💪🏆

This wasn’t just a win.
This was a statement.

Every player played their part, every battle was matched, and every moment showed how much this group wants it. From the first whistle, the lads were sharp, organised and full of intent, playing with a confidence and maturity that reflects how far they’ve come this season.

Kai opened the scoring with a scrappy but vital goal to settle any early nerves and give the team momentum.
The second was a moment of real quality, with Harry M powering home a superb header from an excellent Tyler set piece — a goal built on trust and ex*****on. 👏

The Cubs continued to control the game, and Alfie added a third with a well-earned tap in after some brilliant team movement. Logan showed great composure from the spot to make it four, before Kai capped things off with his second — a goal that perfectly summed up the team’s mentality, chasing everything and never switching off. ⚽⚽

A big mention to Aiden, who put in a top performance in centre midfield on his birthday 🎂⚽ — covering ground, competing and playing his part in a strong team display.

A real leader’s performance. A great goal, constant communication, and the organisation needed to keep the team focused throughout. He set the tone and standards when it mattered most.

And moments like this don’t just happen overnight.

This position at the top of the table has been built over time — through consistent effort, commitment and the willingness of this group to keep improving week after week. The lads have earned this through the work they put in at training, the standards they set for each other, and the way they respond every time they’re tested.

Just as importantly, there’s a strong support system behind them. The encouragement from parents and the structure provided by the club have helped create the right environment for the players to develop, compete and enjoy their football. The players still have to go out and deliver — and they have — but that backing has played a big part in getting them to this position.

And now it’s all on the line…

With 2 games left, the Cubs know that just 1 point secures the league on goal difference.

But there’s still work to do.
There’s still a point to prove.
And there’s still a big finish ahead.
