We are pleased to confirm that Brooke Hughes has committed to Colne Ladies for another season. Brooke joined the club in the second half of last season from Burnley Belvedere. Brooke is a young 18 year old goalkeeper, who is popular around the club, and fits the new ethos of good players who are good people. Brooke said this on her decision to stay at the club for the 26/27 season:

"I'm really pleased to be staying here at Colne. There's a really good feel around the group now, which was clear a couple of weeks ago, when we got to the final of the tournament in Fleetwood. Everyone is excited for next season with new players and managers"

Head Coach Bryn Tracey commented"

"Brooke is another example of ensuring the environment doesn't contain just good players, but also good people. It's important for the environment that it's full of good people. We are really pleased to have Brooke staying for another season"

We are pleased to confirm that Courtney Wilkinson will be staying with us for the upcoming season. Courtney is a popular figure within the club, and gives us both experience, and quality as a very effective right back. We caught up with Courtney recently, who had this to say about her decision to stay with Colne:

"It wasn’t really a hard choice for me to decide to stay at Colne. I’ve been here from the start, and I wanted to see the changes that the new management would bring, along with the new players coming into the squad. There’s a fresh feel around the club now because of all the changes, and I’m excited to be part of it. Now it’s about working hard together, and seeing what we can achieve as a group this season"

Head Coach Bryn Tracey added:

"Again, Courtney was one of the original players we were keen to keep hold of. We are very pleased she has bought into the project and is keen to stay. She was really impressive in the Fleetwood tournament a couple of weeks back, and has been good in training. She's also a great role model to others, given she combines her role as first team player, with coaching one of the junior girls u11s teams. It's a great way to show to the current players, that there's opportunities for them, with the juniors, if coaching is something they'd like to try. "

Boom, another double whammy today, as we confirm that forward Liv Sellars is staying at Colne for the coming season. Liv has been highly sought after prior to Committing to Colne, with teams higher up the pyramid chasing her signature. Liv has prior playing experience playing national league tier 4 football, with York City and Doncaster Belles. She's a very agile and talented footballer, and will be an important player for Colne this season. We got her thoughts on the season ahead:

"I'm really excited for the new season, under the new manager, with a new group. There's been a lot of new people come into the squad, and I can see that we are going to be a very different team this season. It's really exciting, and I'm looking forward to being part of something good next season"

Head Coach Bryn Tracey also had this to say on Liv and her decision to remain at Colne "

I'm absolutely buzzing Liv is staying with us. She's going to be an important part of the project moving forward. Liv is young, technically very good, has an eye for goal, can play across the front three, and is a great person. We are looking forward to working with Liv as part of this talented squad for the 2026/27 season.

Welcome back Leah Harvey, for the 2026/27 season. Leah is a young talented player, who is comfortable using both feet. Leah attracted a lot of attention from teams higher up, but opted to stay with Colne moving forward. A decision that has been very well received by the club, and the new management team. Leah had this to say, regarding her decision to stay at the club:

"I feel really comfortable here at Colne, and have been loving the training sessions since the new coach's arrived. There's a lot of young new players, who are really good and really nice. And I think this makes the environment really good to be around. With all the positive changes, I never thought about playing football anywhere else"

Head coach Bryn Tracey stated: "Leah is a young and talented player, who gives us different options. She's athletic, very quick, and uses both feet effectively. We highlighted Leah before we arrived, as one of the players we were really keen to keep hold of. So I'm really pleased she has decided to commit to the long term project here at Colne, moving forward"

We are delighted to announce that Stacey Robinson will be staying at Colne for the upcoming 2026/27 season. Stacey arrived at the club at the back end of last season after playing football in the North East, and also for the army representative team. Stacey is an experienced head, and will play an integral role, in what will be a much younger Colne team this time around. Stacey had this to say about her decision to remain at Colne:

"To be honest, for me, there's been a change at the club, with new players and new coach's. Things seem to be really exciting, and I decided I wanted to stay around and play my football here, because I believe we are now moving in an exciting direction. I had other offers, but once I saw what was happening here at Colne, it was an easy decision"

New Head Coach Bryn Tracey also had this to say: "I'm so pleased we have retained Stacey. With so much up in the air after last season, and bringing the average age of the squad down, it was vital we that we ensure we have experienced heads around the group. Stacey gives us that, alongside being able to cover a number of positions, particularly at the back. She's also an incredible character to have around"

We are delighted to announce that Bryn Tracey is the new Head Coach of Colne FC Ladies. Bryn is a UEFA qualified coach, and brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached in the women's national league, as well as the regional and county leagues. Bryn has also had experience in coaching throughout the British University and College Sports set up, leading teams of domestic, and international players.

Women's club Chair Kurt Wilkinson said: “As Chairman, I’m excited for the year ahead. We’ve appointed the right Head Coach and coaching team, to lead Colne Ladies FC forward, as we push towards regional level. They bring top-level experience, knowledge and ambition — giving me great confidence we’ll build a strong, competitive future for the club. After our first meeting in November of last year, I was absolutely convinced this was the right fit for the future ambitions of Colne Ladies”

New Head Coach Bryn, also said: "From the initial discussions and agreements late last year, It was evident, that a bright and exciting future lays ahead. For me, the trust that has been placed in me, to shape and assemble a brand new squad, that can compete at the top end of league and cup competition, was pivotal. The aim for me, was to recruit, not only good players, but players who are good people. People who collectively can help shape, a positive, person centred environment, capable of pushing the club forward, in the correct manner. It has only been five weeks since we took charge, and the growth in that time has been absolutely seismic."

Bryn is joined in the dugout by his trusted coaching staff, of John Harrison and Zak Frankland. Together they bring a strong team ethic, trust and togetherness, that will help build relationships that will last a lifetime. Collectively, the new management team recently oversaw a tournament appearance, that saw some of the newly assembled squad, go all the way to a final, narrowly missing out to a tier 5 regional side.

We wish Bryn, John and Zak all the best, for what we believe is an exciting next chapter for Colne Ladies.
