It's edging closer 👀 as Sunday sees the girls begin their league campaign, away to Carlisle United. Across a busy summer, we have seen the appointment of a new head coach, and coaching team. We have also seen as many as 13 new players, arrive at the club, at what has been the busiest recruitment drive on record.

We recently caught up with the skipper Beth Bancroft, ahead of Sundays opening league fixture:

This Sunday the girls begin their league campaign, with an away day in Cumbria against Carlisle United Ladies FC . The reds will be looking to make a positive start to the season in their opener, in the Lancashire Women's County League Premier Division. A massive summer overhaul, both with the coaching staff and the players, has seen some positive performances through Pre Season, but also the Women's FA Cup.

Its finished all square here in Liverpool 3-3 after 90 minutes. Sadly the Wembley dream is over, as we bow out of the Women's FA Cup 4-1 on Penalties. We got the thoughts of head coach Bryn Tracey after today's game:

💬 "I just want to commend the girls on today's performance. We went toe to toe with a regional level side today and we were not anywhere near our best. But yet again, after being 3-1 down, the girls showed incredible resilience to take the game to penalties. I think we have showed today, that we are a very good side, even when we are not at our best. And that's actually something that excites me moving forward"
