A little update from all of us at Viking Village 🛡️⚔️

For a while now, Viking Village has been more than just a bar — it's been sold-out gig nights, birthday parties, first dates, celebrations, and so many nights we'll never forget. That's down to you, and we don't take it for granted.

As some of you will know, we're currently working through some licensing requirements, and we've made the decision to close our doors for a short while to get this properly sorted. Rather than rush it, we'd rather take the time to do things right and come back stronger.

We're aiming to reopen at the start of November, and we'll be sharing more as we get closer.

Thank you for being part of Viking Village so far, and for bearing with us. This isn't goodbye, it's just us taking a breath before the next chapter. See you on the other side. 🍻

A quick update from us, as we know there's been some chatter about what's going on with the venue at the moment.

Our premises licence, which covers the sale and consumption of alcohol on-site, has lapsed. It's a technical and administrative matter, not a reflection of any incident or issue with how we run the venue, and we want to be upfront about it rather than let rumours fill the gap.

While this gets sorted, we've made the decision to run a smaller, more focused calendar rather than push ahead with everything at once. We're covering this reduced run of events with Temporary Event Notices, which also permit alcohol to be sold and consumed, so we can keep serving as normal while putting all our energy into making sure each event is genuinely worth turning up for. Quality over quantity while we get things fully back on track.

The good news is this coming weekend is already covered, so that goes ahead as planned. We'll keep you posted as things progress.

We are thrilled to welcome the incredible Manaraefan Vikings Re-enactment Group to Viking Village for a massive, two-day living history spectacular. They will be building a full, authentic settlement right here in Bridport and staying in character for the entire weekend!
