Pymore 5-0 Pen Mill
Brilliant run out tonight in our third pre season match, with every game we’re looking sharper and getting used to playing together.
We started brightly, passing around and keeping control of the ball early on, but were tested with Pen Mill playing long balls into the channels however the back four mopped most things up with Rutland Jaycob James and Kieran Poole controlling that back line well.
The midfield three of Callum Sorrell Ryan Gay and Tufty worked tirelessly in midfield covering a lot of ground and transitioning into attack well and the front three of Ian Black Christian Langdon and Martin Phillips always looked dangerous.
Our first goal came early when Martin Phillips ran through to tuck into the corner.
And despite other chances we didn’t extend the lead.
Second half we came out making 7 changes and Pen Mill started brightly, playing over our defence and forced Nathan Goldstone into a good save. But we got back on top and soon added the second when Wez crossed from deep and Tufty volleyed in from the back post.
Tufty’s second and our third of the game came soon after shooting from 20 yards to the bottom corner.
Matt Gore making his return to action netted two late on as well with brilliant finishes and we then controlled the game until the end.
Everyone played their part today and the football was at times brilliant.
MoM tonight goes to Tufty, with two goals and a commanding performance in the middle. Although there were a number of players to choose from.
Let’s keep working hard and next week we go to Lyme Regis for another tough test.
Quality from start to finish lads, forza Pymore 💪
Thanks to Pen Mill Mens Football Club for a good game and also massive thank you to Netherbury FC for letting us use their pitch.
