⛳️⛳️Captain’s Weekend 2026⛳️⛳️

A fantastic weekend at Bridlington Golf Club celebrating the 2026 Captains Weekend.

The weather was glorious all weekend and the 2026 Captain, David Howker, was ever present in the halfway house serving food and drink to the many competitors over the three days of Competition.

The prizes were presented in front of a packed clubhouse following the shotgun start event on Sunday and the Captain took the opportunity to thank everyone for helping and supporting him over the weekend and making it very memorable for him.

Congratulations to all the many prizewinners.

Congratulations to Bridlington Golf Club on launching their tee-rrific new course layout recently.

It was wonderful to pop along to see it and their members mid golf competition, followed by a barbecue lunch.

Golf brings in an extra £412 million a year to the UK’s accommodation and tourism industries, so given the importance of tourism to our area, it’s wonderful to see East Yorkshire delivering above par.

My thanks to 2026 Captain David Howker for the invite, it was un-fore-gettable!

Seaside Pro/Am 2026
Friday 5th June

A fantastic day at Bridlington Golf Club for the 30th annual Seaside Pro/Am competition.

Congratulations to all the prizewinners, in particular the winning team “The Captain's Team” with a score of 124 (18 under par) featuring Bridlington Golf Club Captain David Howker and playing partners Ashley Dawson & Andy Higgins and Professional Ryan O'Neill from Penworthan GC.

The winning Golf Professional score was tied by two players, Gareth Davies (Abbeydale) and Ryan O'Neill (Penworthan) on 67 (four under par), which with the recent course changes both stand as a new course record.

The weather on the day was very kind and the rain managed to stay away to allow everyone to enjoy their round.

At the end of day prize presentation thanks were expressed to the Yorkshire PGA team for running the desk on the day and both the bar and catering staff for looking after all the competitors during the day. Special mention also to the Ladies in the Halfway House.

The biggest vote of thanks were expressed to Head Greenkeeper, Scott Cooper and all his team for the presentation of the Golf Course which some said it was in the best condition they had ever seen it and the tranformation from last year was quite remarkable.

A big thank you was also expressed to the main sponsor of the event "Richard Booth Wealth Management" for his generosity and support towards the event, which made a huge difference.

The 32nd annual Bridlington Golf Festival has come to an end, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the many competitors, from all over the UK, who attended and helped make it another hugely successful event.

We hope you all had a great week, competing in the 9 events played, and we hope you enjoyed all the facilities and courses on offer at the three host Golf Clubs, Bridlington Belvedere, Driffield and Flamborough Head.

The weather during the week was the icing on the cake and this certainly helped to keep all the competitors smiling and happy 🙂

A big vote of thanks to all the Greenkeeping staff at the three host Golf Clubs for presenting the courses in excellent condition.

Also special thanks to all the Catering & Bar Staff and a particularly big thank you to all the many volunteers at the three host Golf Clubs, who helped as starters and desk officials, ensuring that the event ran very smoothly.

Preparations are already underway for the 33rd annual Bridlington Golf Festival (Monday 3rd to Saturday 8th May 2027) and we look forward to receiving your entries from 1st October 2026.
