🎓 A strength and conditioning coach programmes the energy system. Not just the exercise.

This distinction matters more than most people realise.

Anyone can put together a list of exercises that will make people tired. That is not hard. Pick ten movements, set a timer, watch everyone suffer. Done.

What a qualified strength and conditioning coach does is fundamentally different.

• They identify the energy systems that need developing for the specific population they are training
• They programme work-to-rest ratios that target those systems specifically
• They sequence exercises to manage fatigue and protect movement quality as the session progresses
• They periodise the training over weeks and months so each block builds on the last
• They watch the quality of every movement as intensity increases and adjust in real time
• They understand the difference between productive discomfort and counterproductive breakdown

All of this requires knowledge, experience and a coach-to-member ratio that makes it actually possible.

The National Strength and Conditioning Association defines strength and conditioning coaching as the science-based practice of developing physical performance through systematic, periodised programming of resistance, energy system and movement quality work. The emphasis on systematic and periodised is not accidental. Random selection of hard exercises does not constitute strength and conditioning programming regardless of how it is marketed.

At C&S Fitness our groups of twelve are coached by people who have been doing this for over twenty years. Every session is systematic. Every session is progressive. And the person leading it can tell you exactly what energy system is being trained and why.

🏷️ Get coached by people who actually know what they are doing. First month at C&S Fitness just £29. 💛

😂 A completely accurate description of all seven C&S sessions.

• 5AM: Absolute silence. Everyone is half asleep. Somehow the best session of the day. Nobody knows why. Nobody questions it.

• 6AM: One person is suspiciously energetic. Everyone else is still processing being alive. Great session though.

• 7AM: The sweet spot. People are awake. People are ready. Someone will hit a PB today.

• 9:30AM: Post school run energy. Stress levels are high walking in. Completely zen walking out.

• 12PM: Quick and efficient. These people mean business. Lunch break legends.

• 4PM: The early finishers. Smug about leaving work on time. Rightfully so.

• 5:30PM and 7PM: After work warriors. The day might have been terrible. The session will fix it. Always does.

🏷️ Pick any one of these sessions. Try it for a month. Your first month is just £29 and covers every single time slot on the timetable. So if 5AM turns out to not be your thing (fair enough) you can quietly switch to 7PM and nobody will judge you. Much. 😄 💛

🏆 Something is coming back. And if you know, you know.

Since 2017 we ran a programme that changed peoples lives. Properly changed them. Not just their bodies. Their confidence. Their sleep. Their relationships with themselves.

We ran it every year until we couldnt. And stopping it was one of the hardest decisions we ever made.

But we are bringing it back.

The C&S Six. Six weeks. Expert coaching. Proper nutrition support. Daily sessions from 5AM to 8PM so nobody runs out of excuses. And a community that will carry you every single day.

September 7th 2026. The waitlist is open now.

🏷️ Not ready for a six week commitment just yet? Completely understandable. Come and try us out first. Your first month is just £29. Get a feel for the coaching, the community and the sessions before you commit to anything bigger. Then when September comes you will already know exactly why everyone who has done The C&S Six never looks back. 💛

🎓 Twenty plus years of coaching. Here is what we have learned.

We have been doing this a long time. Over twenty years of coaching real people through real life.

And here is what we know for certain after all of it.

• The person who shows up on their worst day gets the most out of it
• Consistency beats intensity every single time
• Nobody ever regretted coming to a session
• The community around you matters as much as the programme you are following
• Small groups make everything better. More coaching. More connection. Better results.
• And a clean gym makes everyone train harder. True story.

🏷️ Twenty years of experience does not have to cost a fortune to access. Your first month at C&S Fitness is just £29. That is twenty plus years of knowledge, a brilliant community and daily sessions from 5AM to 8PM for less than the cost of a decent meal out. Come and use it. 💛

🏋️ Everyone talks about working hard. Very few people talk about working smart.

There is one principle that sits at the absolute foundation of every result we have ever seen in over twenty years of coaching. And it is not working harder. It is progressive overload.

Progressive overload simply means that over time you are asking your body to do slightly more than it did before. More weight. More reps. Better range of motion. Slower tempo. Shorter rest period.

This is how the body actually changes. Not by being destroyed in a session. Not by lying on the floor at the end of every workout. But by consistently, intelligently applying a stimulus that is just a little more demanding than last time.

“A 2024 randomised controlled trial showed that progressive overload, whether by increasing load or increasing reps, produced significant and similar improvements in both strength and muscle cross-sectional area over ten weeks. The mechanism is clear: mechanical overload boosts muscle protein synthesis. Your body rebuilds stronger because it has been given a reason to.”

This is exactly why at C&S Fitness we do not just throw sessions at you and hope for the best. Every session builds on the last. Every week has a purpose. That is what experienced coaching in a small group actually looks like.

🏷️ Your first month at C&S Fitness is just £29. Come and experience what programming that actually builds on itself week to week feels like. It is a very different thing to just turning up and getting sweaty. 💛

🏗️ You would not build a house starting with the roof. So why do so many training programmes skip the foundations?

At C&S Fitness strength training is the foundation of everything we do. Not because we think nothing else has value. Because the science of physical adaptation is very clear about what underpins everything else.

A stronger body:

• Performs HIIT better because the muscles involved are more capable
• Recovers from conditioning work faster because the musculoskeletal system is more resilient
• Handles bodyweight exercise with better form and less injury risk because the supporting structures are stronger
• Produces more power on the ski erg and rower because force production starts with muscle
• Ages better, moves better and lives better because muscle mass is the single most protective tissue in the human body

Every modality we use at C&S has its place. Bodyweight work. HIIT. Cardiovascular conditioning. Accessory movements. But they all sit on top of a strength training foundation that we never compromise.

A 2025 comprehensive review of training modalities confirmed that resistance training produces adaptations that support every other form of physical activity, including improved neuromuscular recruitment for HIIT protocols, greater metabolic efficiency for cardiovascular work and enhanced connective tissue integrity that underpins safe bodyweight movement. Strength is the base layer. Everything else is applied on top.

In our groups of twelve in Bridgwater, the primary lift always comes first. Then the accessory work. Then the conditioning. In that order. For a reason.

🏷️ Build something that lasts. First month at C&S Fitness just £29. Foundation first. Always. 💛

💛 This one is for the ones we have missed.

You know who you are.

The ones who were here from the beginning. Who remembered when C&S was buzzing. Who came in every session, knew everyones name, cheered the loudest and made this place feel like a second home.

Some of you drifted away over the last couple of years. And we get it. We really do. Things changed here and it was not always what it should have been.

But we want you to know the door is open. More than open. The kettle is on and your spot is warm.

🏷️ If you have been away a while and want to come back and feel it out before committing, your first month back is just £29. No pressure. No big commitment. Just your first month at the price of a couple of takeaways so you can remind yourself why you loved it here. 💛

❤️What Real Coaching Feels like ❤️

There is a difference between being trained and being coached.

Being trained means someone counts your reps and tells you what to do next.

Being coached means someone knows your history, your goals, your body, your bad days and your brilliant ones. It means someone notices the small things before they become big things. It means someone is genuinely invested in what happens to you.

That kind of coaching is rare. And once you have had it, everything else feels like a pale imitation.

At C&S Fitness our owner-coaches have been here from the beginning. They are not going anywhere. And if you have trained here before, you already know exactly what we mean.

Some things are hard to replicate. Real coaching is one of them. 💛
