BATTLE OF BRIDGWATER: PART 2 💥

Rivals collide as Bridgwater Bucs 1 make the short trip across the river to take on the Bridgwater Blackhawks in the first game of 2026 — and this one means EVERYTHING.

Both teams sit with just one loss all season. This is the second and final showdown in league play.

Last time out, the Blackhawks stole it in a heart-stopping, down-to-the-wire thriller. Now the Bucs are back, locked in, and hungry to settle the score and split the series 1–1.

🏀GAME RESULT🏀

Friday night saw Bucs 1 host Taunton Dragons in what was billed as an ‘intense affair’ and trust us, it didn’t disappoint.

After 3 quarters of end to end basketball, neither side could establish a substantial lead from the fast paced and physical matchup.

Going into the 4th quarter it looked to continue however up stepped J. Williams whose 11 points in the this quarter alone helped Bucs slay the Dragons and sail off into the distance.

All 12 men involved played their part on both ends of the court and all players involved in scoring proving that it was a great team win.

We wish Dragons all the best for the rest of the season and are looking forward to the return fixture.

Top scorers for Bucs: J. Williams (MVP) 19 points, M. Seaworyeh 10 points, S. Gormley 9 points.

Bucs who are looking to propel themselves up the league with a 4th consecutive win welcome Dragons who are looking to accomplish the same feat.

🏀GAME RESULT🏀

Friday night saw Bucs 2 take on the Dragons, but this time it was the Dragons who came out on top, handing Bucs 2 their second loss of the season and dropping them to 0–2.

There’s little time to dwell on the result, as Bucs 2 face a quick turnaround — they’ll be back in action on Tuesday, 21st October, when they host the Taunton Tornados.

For now, the team is enjoying a well-earned rest over the weekend and will be focused on bouncing back next week.

Bucs 2 are in action tonight as they make the trip down the M5 where they meet Taunton Dragons.

Both Bucs 2 and Dragons are looking for their first strike in the win column so it could make for interesting basketball.

Bucs 2 are back in action this Friday after a 4 week break.

Looking to bounce back off their opening day loss Bucs 2 visit Taunton Dragons who themselves have lost their opening 2 games of the season.

History tells us this fixture is always feisty affair especially with both teams hoping to get off the mark for the 25/26 season

🏀Game Update🏀

Last night Bucs hosted Chard Flight at Bridgwater College.

Throughout the first half Bucs struggled to any form of offence going which Flight took full advantage of going into halftime with a healthy 17 point lead.

At the halftime break Coach Galloway had some stern words of encouragement for the team and before we knew it the 2nd half was commencing.

Bucs came into the 3rd quarter with what seemed an unstoppable offence putting up 31 points with Chard retaliating with 5 for the quarter.

Heading into the 4th the message from Coach Galloway was the same ‘we keep pushing’ to which Bucs did exactly.

Chard were unable to get off the ground whilst the steady Bucs ship sailed into distance seeing Bucs complete their comeback for a 83-57 win.

Bucs top scorers - J. Williams 16 points, L. Vickery 15 points, R. Nurse 12 points.

Bucs 2 who are hoping to get their campaign underway with 3 points in the win column host Bucs 1 who are looking to bounce back after Fridays tight affair with a win of their own.

Whilst this is an interclub game, believe us it will not be a friendly.

After a tightly contested battle Bucs were defeated in the season opener by Blackhawks.

The game went down to the wire and was on and on the edge of your seat affair from whistle to whistle.

Best of luck to Blackhawks for the rest of the season and we look forward to the reverse fixture.
