Prior to our ex players Vs coaches game, club secretary Sam popped to see Steve at Vintage Traders at GPR Bridgwater, who kindly donated some basic equipment for our groundskeeping team for the season ahead.

it might not look like much, but it's all saving us money, and helping us keep our pitches in usable condition.

Yesterday, the club had the absolute pleasure of inviting back some of our ex players - players who were with us 27 years ago in the original club.

Club chairman Paul, and returning coach Kev were these players first introduction to grassroots football - and without these players, the club wouldn't of grown as it did, and, without this club, these people wouldn't of gone on to play for other clubs, or sports!

A great morning was had by all, with the ex players running out 3-2 winners Vs our current volunteers.

A huge thank you to Darren, Stump & Claire for preparing the pitch, club photographer Tom for some amazing shots, and our two current players for being our officials running the line! A top job.

A huge congratulations to Martyn for completing his introduction to football course and becoming a fully qualified coach.

Martyn joined us as a parent over the summer, but quickly got the grassroots bug. He first stepped up to helping our under 11 squad, and has progressed to not only that, but helping our Rhode Lane Wanderers Minis on a Sunday morning too. Within a year, hes gone from being a by stander to a fully qualified football coach.

By day, he is a Nursing Associate, come the weekend, hes another grassroots warrior leading the lines. He has also agreed to step up to be our lead person on first aid & emergency care - something which we will support him with also in development of skills and training.

From all of us, committee, coaches, parents and children, THANK YOU for everything you do.

Last year, we embarked on the mission to provide completely FREE football for all reception to year 2 children. And it was a huge success.

We're back! Sponsored by the wonderful Karebears childcare,who saw our mission and really believed in what we were doing, we can extend our spare by an extra ten children!

Our first taster session will be the 6th of September, 9.30am till 10.30am, get in touch to reserve your space!

Our under 9s might be full, but we still have some space for our under 11 girls team for this coming season. (that's years 5 & 6 currently)

No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun!

working alongside the fabulous Sedgemoor Community Connector CIC & the National Literacy Trust, we'll be running some fun little activities for the kids, as well as a lot of other people doing their things too

🧱🧤Austin was recently chatting on Sedgemoor FM to Mark about RLW & why he's called "The Brick Wall."

Austin — our Under 12s goalkeeper and, apparently, the man responsible for single-handedly putting a **“NO ENTRY”** sign on the goal! 😂🚫⚽🧱🧤

Austin didn’t exactly start out between the sticks. He began life as a **midfielder**, had a little wander into **defense**, and then somewhere along the way discovered his true calling…

🧤 **GOALKEEPING!** 🧤

And judging by some of the saves he’s pulling off, we reckon he’s found his happy place! 😂

Now known affectionately as **“The Brick Wall”**, Austin is becoming a nightmare for anyone trying to find the back of the net. Shots? **BOUNCED.** ⚽💥
One-on-ones? **DENIED.** 🚫
Strikers thinking they’ve finally beaten him? **ABSOLUTELY NOT.** 😂

He’s got the reflexes, the bravery and just the right amount of **goalkeeper madness** needed for the job! 🧤🤣

Austin is proving to be a true asset to the Under 12s and is playing a massive part in the team’s success. 💪⚽

From midfield ➡️ defense ➡️ **THE BRICK WALL** 🧱

Sometimes you just have to find your position… and Austin has definitely found his! 🧤🔥
