🐴🏆 TREC DAY AT CANNINGTON EC… AND MAX MEANS BUSINESS! 🏆🐴

What a fantastic day we’ve had! ☀️🐎

Today we saw our wonderful Cannington College horses and clients take on the TREC challenge alongside some brilliant visiting combinations — and they certainly didn’t disappoint!

There were some fantastic performances, some serious concentration… and probably a few moments of “where are we supposed to go now?” 😂

But that’s what we love about TREC. It isn’t just about getting over the obstacles or being the fastest. It’s about the partnership between horse and rider — trust, communication, confidence and knowing each other well enough to tackle whatever comes your way. ❤️

And most importantly, it’s about horses that are happy, confident and enjoying their job. When you see a horse and rider working together, listening to one another and genuinely enjoying the experience, THAT is the real success. 💚

However… there is always that small matter of a winner! 👀🏆

It is only week 2 and our Level 3 Equine students have been getting to grips with horse anatomy in a fun and engaging way. Working together, they tackled a series of clues and challenges to track down a missing competition horse, applying their knowledge of the equine body to solve the mystery. From digital tasks to hands-on activities, students explored a wide range of resources, including life-sized bones, to enhance their learning. Everyone got involved, worked hard and showed fantastic teamwork, problem-solving and anatomical knowledge

Sunday Lessons - TRAFFIC Notice

The Bridgwater Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and features a brand-new rural route that passes directly through Cannington.

If you are traveling through Cannington on Sunday, expect localized traffic delays and increased congestion between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
Road Status: All roads along the route will remain open to normal traffic. No formal road closures have been implemented for this race, but marshals and signage will be stationed throughout the area to guide runners safely
The Route: Runners will start at The Green in Wembdon at 10:00 AM, head through the country lanes into Cannington, and loop back toward Chilton Trinity
Driver Guidance: Motorists are advised to drive with extra caution and expect minor delays as they share the tarmac with a large pack of runners.
