Put on a masterclass in silencing a striker. Pocketed and demoralised opposition early doors and was a brick wall. Won 100% of his duels and helped bring home the big 3 points 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Highburn Reserves secured their first victory with a convincing 6-1 win away to Worle Colts👏🏼👏🏼
The lads got into their stride straight from the off with Jackson and Lucas causing mayhem on the wings.
The 2 youngsters would continue to look lively all game!
Goalless after 25 mins the game burst into life in the space of 7 minutes.
A handball in the Worle box resulted in a penalty. Big Lew stepped up and put the ball wide of the post.
2.minutes later he made amends pouncing on a poor back pass and slotting the ball past the keeper from 16 yards.
Minutes later and the big man had his second.
Lucas played the ball in and Lewis Gaylard found the back of the net from close range with a bicycle kick.
Half time 2-0
The second half was much of the same. Mayhem up top and the back 4 standing strong and resolute.
It wasn't long before Highburn added a 3rd from a very unexpected source. Tristan Ellis gathered the ball in his own box. He launched a huge kick down field which bounced over the opposing keepers head and into the back of the net 🥅
Shortly after, our new summer signing from Poland Szymon scored his first goal for Highburn.
Lucas pressed the fullback and won the ball back. Sham picked the ball up 30 yards out, turned and unleashed a ferocious shot. The keeper saw it late and couldn't keep it out.
Worle managed to find the net with a scrappy goal and then Lew bagged his hattrick. Or did he?👀
Lucas was played through down the right. He drove with the ball into the box and knocked it past the keeper.
The final touch is proving a slight mystery. Big Lew will tell you he got the last touch, others may disagree.
As the defence then faced an onslaught which they dealt with time and time again, there was still time for our Keeper Tristan to grab his second of the game with another huge kick out of hand.
Cue the wild scenes. Highburn Reserves are off the mark🙌🙌

⚪️ Highburn Reserves kicked off their debut season with a 1-0 defeat at home to Berrow Reserves.
With the sun shining Highburn looked the brighter team in the opening 15 minutes with some crisp passing.
Lucas Hembury and Tom Fishlock both looking lively on the wings and the back 4 looking like an impenetrable fortress.
Berrow grew into the game but they were limited to long range shots which Tristan Ellis, in the Highburn goal, dealt with easily.
And suddenly the game came to life. At one end Tom Fishlock ran onto a through ball, knocked it past the Berrow Keeper and was wiped out. Penalty was the shout. The ref waved play on.
At the other end Tristan Ellis made a point blank save and the teams went in at half time goalless.
The 2nd half began much the same. No real clear cut chances.
And once again the half kicked into life late on. Finley Payne made a darting run through the Berrow defence to latch onto a through ball. As the keeper came out Finley knocked the ball past him and was clattered by the keeper. Once again there were cries for a penalty. Once again the ref waved play on.
And just as we thought Highburn had earned a well earned point Berrow scrambled the ball into the back of the net to win the game in the last minute!
No heads dropped. Lots of positives to take from the game!
With a team of 90% new players the team gelled well and ready to bounce back next week.

🔵 First game as a Division 1 team we faced Nailsea United FC. After a hard and nervy pre season trying to bed in new players we got off to a flyer, cobwebs and rust finally gone & the lads really pulled it out the bag.
With 2 new debutants getting their first competitive mins with the team we’re looking like we’re finding our feet. But today showed some real bits of magic and something we can build on.
