We’re opening the doors to a small number of new skaters through our Development Sessions programme.

Join us for 8 fully funded, non-contact sessions designed to help you build confidence, develop your skills, and discover everything roller derby has to offer. Sessions are delivered by experienced coaches in a supportive and welcoming environment.

📍 Ysgol Bryn Castell, Bridgend
🕖 Fridays • 7pm–9pm

Session Dates:

• 3 July
• 17 July
• 31 July
• 21 August
• 11 September
• 25 September
• 9 October
• 23 October

Over the course of the programme you’ll learn about:

✨ Skating skills
✨ Roller derby rules and gameplay
✨ Officiating opportunities
✨ Derby culture and community
✨ Confidence, fitness and teamwork

Previous participants have told us that roller derby:

💚 Supported their mental wellbeing
💜 Gave them a fun and rewarding hobby

To take part, you must:
✔ Be aged 18+
✔ Be able to stand on skates and move forwards independently
✔ Wear full safety equipment during sessions

🛡 Loan kit is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Skate sizes and safety equipment are limited, so early booking is recommended.

💰 A commitment £40 deposit is required to secure your place - refundable upon completion following the return of any loan kit.

Spaces are limited.

🥇 As part of the awards the captain gave out, Liz Bryant and Lily Bryant scooped theirs for an OUTSTANDING contribution to the smooth running of our home game hosting responsibilities. 🥇

It's SO hard to watch your team play when you're injured, recovering and unable to play yourself. But, apparently it's also SO easy to be the best cheerleader and rope in your kid too!

Lily also manned the door and helped with all sorts of sales last year, so she had insider info on how to make it smoother this year, and she used those insights wisely!

These angels don't like the spotlight, but we think they are worth pouring praise on 💫

Medal ceremony! 🏅
Last night we had our lovely captain & co captain hand out medals to the team for our 5N win. Was a lovely evening celebrating our accomplishment cant wait for next season 💙

We are so lucky to be involved in such an inclusive, accepting sport. There is no space for hate in rollerderby so lets spread the word and play with pride.

You may have seen us rocking our new helmet covers during our last game.

As a small team we rely on community contribution to keep running, this season we were able to obtain a grant from the Post code lottery, facilitated by The purpose of the grant is to break down the barriers grass root sports teams face

We are incredibly greatful, the support has directly led to our new kit which the team will be proudly sporting during future games 💙

We had our first session back yesterday and we are still riding the high of winning our 5N tier 🏅

On our first session back we did scrim scenarios and power jam starts. Whilst our skaters may be sick of being in the bin at times during our 5N season, we still had lots of pretend time in the bin to facilitate jam starts last night. sorry not sorry team 🤣

But everyone had a fab session and we are all still pumped from our win and bringing everything to training to prepare for next season!

The bank holiday meant our training session was cancelled BUT nice weather calls for a team hangout regardless! 🌞
