FIRSTLY letโs just celebrate nearly ยฃ2000 raised!
And that type of thing makes me want to keep going all the more!!!!
A slight evolution to my 1,000K in 100 Days Challenge, but absolutely no change to the end goal.
1,000 kilometres minimum in 100 days.
The original plan was 10K of running every single day.
The problem?
My hips are already telling me that 100 consecutive days of running probably isnโt the smartest way to get to Day 100.
I considered adding cycling and treadmill running, but thereโs another part of this challenge thatโs really important to me:
ACCOUNTABILITY.
Outdoor running gives me a clear GPS-tracked distance.
On a treadmill, my watch doesnโt always calibrate accurately, and ultimately the treadmill can keep moving whether I do or not.
Cycling also makes the distance difficult to compare fairly, 10K on a bike simply isnโt the same challenge as a 10K run.
So Iโve decided to keep it simple, measurable and transparent.
Welcome to:
THE 1,000K HYBRID
๐ 50 ร 10K outdoor runs = 500K
๐ฟ 25 ร 10K SkiErgs = 250K
๐ฃ 25 ร 10K rows = 250K
The rotation:
RUN โ RUN โ SKI โ ROW โ REPEAT. ๐
100 days.
1,000K minimum.
50% running minimum.
Every outdoor run GPS tracked. Every SkiErg and row recorded directly on the Concept2.
This isnโt about finding an easier way to complete the challenge. Itโs about adapting early enough to stay healthy, stay accountable and actually make it to Day 100.
The challenge was never supposed to be about ignoring my body until something breaks.
Itโs about consistency.
Itโs about commitment.
And sometimes commitment means being smart enough to adapt the plan without changing the goal.
