It is with a huge amount of pride, as always, that we can announce that our girl has been selected in the reserve spot for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Ellie has put her whole life into her sport and her country, wearing her Welsh leotard many many times from the age of 9 and bringing home Welsh, British and international success. Ellie I know this is not the spot you wanted and definitely not the spot you deserved, but after the couple of years you have had and everything you have been put through beyond your control to even be still at the top of your game, having many times shaken yourself off, given yourself a talking to and then got straight back on with it is more of an achievement than any title will ever be. Welsh through and through you will always be a champion in our eyes, from the minute Alison and I walked through the doors at Welsh Gymnastics with you all those years ago, you have remained true to yourself and have never given up on your dreams and goals. You can hold your head high and know you never opted for the easier option, even up against gymnasts competing for Welsh spots who are older and more experienced seniors in English Gymnastics where spots on the national team are harder. To come that close behind them says it all - the process is what it is so we straighten your crown and carry on! See you in Glasgow either way my girl, the PYB community are so very proud of you! 💪❤️
