🟠⚫ Match Report ⚫🟠

Last Sunday Stirling welcomed Ardnamurchan to The Haws for our final game of the season. With a full squad and then some the squad were keen to go out on a high.

Stirling started strong with attempts on goal and holding determined in defence.
Ardnamurchan then opened the scoring with an excellent penalty in the top corner. Stirling continued to put up a strong effort with nice runs of play from the whole team. Stirling continued to fight right to the last whistle, with a last minute shot on goal going wide.

Unfortunately the away team were too strong with a final score of 0-7.

Thanks to Ardnamurchan for travelling down and congratulations on their win, and thanks to the club members with their barbecue skills.

POTM was Fallon after a great shift up front!

Bring on 2027!

Disclaimer: Some players were injured in the making of this report.

The final seniors game of the season saw Stirling make the long journey to Lochgilphead, travelling with a squad of 15 — a great mixture of youth and experience.

Kilmory started strong on the attack, but junior Murdo MacGregor on his sebur caused constant disruption and frustration for their forward line. He certainly made his mark in his first appearance, and we can be sure of that again in many games to come. However, quick pace and smooth ball movement saw Kilmory gain an early advantage.

A string of injuries within the Stirling squad caused a bit of disruption, but the team adapted and pushed on. Friendly fire took Hamish MacGregor out of action, a couple of players suffered bashed knees, and Neil Sutherland took multiple smacks to the hands—though that didn't keep him off the field for long!

In true Stirling style, the team didn't give up for a single second. For a new team, it's all about perseverance and resilience. The club is immensely proud to have fielded a squad for every single game across the first two seasons, many thanks to all the players who have contributed this year.

We now look forward to a winter break, it'll be next season before we know it!

POTM: Murdo McGregor (Wing-Back)

🟠⚫ Match Report ⚫🟠

Saturday saw Stirling welcome high-flying Strachur-Dunoon to the Haws for our final home game of the season. With Strachur-Dunoon in a battle for the league title they brought a strong side full of experience, so it was always going to be a tough ask for the Stirling side.

Strachur-Dunoon came flying out the blocks with a series of first half goals, and whilst Stirling were battling well all over the field the clinical forward line of the Cowal side took advantage of the chances they had. Stirling came close on a number of occasions but unfortunately they went in at halftime 7-0 down.

The second half saw a far more even contest, with Stirling making some small adjustments and more than holding their own. Stirling got a goal back through Chris Cameron, who pounced after a nicely worked free hit left him with an easy finish from close range.Strachur-Dunoon continued to push on and scored 3 further goals as the match drew to a close, but Stirling continued to battle well.

The final score was 10-1 to Strachur-Dunoon and congratulations to them, but the game had a scoreline that perhaps did not fully reflect how the game went and the hard work put in by the Stirling side.

We now look forward to our final fixture of the season, away to Kilmory in Lochgilphead on Saturday - before taking a well earned break!

MOTM: John Fraser (Full-Centre)

🟠⚫ Match Report ⚫🟠

On Sunday, the women’s team travelled to Caol for our penultimate league game against Kilmallie. Stirling made a strong start in the match against a quick Kilmallie team. Our keeper Siobhan made some outstanding saves and the defense worked hard to keep the ball out of the D. The score was 0-0 for most of the first half but Kilmallie managed to open the scoring before half time and the score was 3-0 to the home side.

Stirling started well in the second half with some well timed substitutions to try and keep the ball moving for Stirling to attack The final score was 7-0 to Kilmallie.

POTM was Anne for an outstanding shift in defense.

Thanks to Kilmallie for hosting us on the most scenic pitch we have visited and for the excellent post match hospitality.

⚫🟠 Summer Camp Recap 🟠⚫

Stirling Camanachd hosted a two day summer camp earlier this week for kids aged 6-11. We had 17 participants across the two days; a mixture of club members and new players.

Many thanks to the coaches that volunteered their time and made the two days very enjoyable for everyone there.
