Pleasantly Pilates Small group matwork classes and one-to-one tuition to improve posture, strength and flexibility.

I have been teaching Pilates now for over eight years and teach a mixture of group mat work classes, chair based classes and one to one sessions. I trained with Body Control Pilates, Europe's largest professional Pilates organisation and as such adhere to their code of practice covering teaching standards and continuing education. All of my classes are limited in size to a maximum group of twelve

enabling closer supervision and feedback. I also tailored all of my classes to individual needs such as my popular Pilates for bone health class which is suitable for clients with Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. Another example of this is a half seated, half standing class, for older adults where we work on functional exercises to help with; posture, strength, balance and flexibility. Pilates is ideal for first time exercisers due to its slow and controlled approach and many clients find the focus on the precision of movement and co-ordination with breath to be both mindful and relaxing.

Curious about Pilates?

Pilates is ideal for people of all ages due to its slow and controlled approach to movement. It was originally called “Contrology” by its creator Joseph Pilates.

Through a series of exercises designed to build strength and flexibility, it targets the deep postural muscles of the body, creating a natural girdle of strength around your torso.

The benefits are many and include improved posture, balance and co-ordination to name just a few……many of my clients also report feeling an inch taller after class and more relaxed!

We’re very happy to follow the advice given in The Times by Bryan Ferry 🙌🏻 this weekend, who at 74 years young says the answer to keeping ‘in fine nick’ is Pilates two or three times a week and a daily Martini! 🙆🏻‍♂️🍸

We all fell in love ❤️ with Chelsea Pensioner and war veteran, Colin Thackery, when he won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ 🇬🇧 this year...so, imagine our excitement when we discovered he’s a fan of Pilates! 🙆🏻‍♂️

At 89 years old, Colin is proof that it’s never too late to follow your dreams...or take up Pilates! 🌟

Jennifer Aniston turned 5️⃣0️⃣ at the start of the year 😲 and looks absolutely phenomenal! 🙌🏻

And we’re delighted to know Pilates has played a part - ‘I’m a Pilates person’ says Jennifer ‘It’s great. I had a hip problem. I had a chronic back problem, a pinched nerve...it’s completely solved all of it. I love it. It makes me feel like I’m taller!’ 🙆🏼‍♀️
