A little something different from me, I wanted to introduce you to my life & the people in it🫶🏼

I watch many posts go up but do you know who you are really connecting with, well here is a little bit about me & my life☺️

• I work as a Gym manager, Personal trainer & regional recruiter - this is my passion & I love my job.
• My fiancée Paul - the man who makes me sane & insane, are they really the one if they don’t do this😂
• My step daughters - two very special girls who define all odds proving that no matter what happens we come through it surviving!
• My doggy - she’s cute, that’s enough said!
• My sisters, mum & brother - it’s love like no other
• My nephew - he made me an aunt, he has my heart & soul forever.
• My grandparents - how special are grandparents btw, nothing beats them🥰
• My in Laws - the ones who took me on as their own, that’s a different kind of love.
• My sister - doesn’t leave my side so much so she moved in with us, I don’t think I’m ever getting rid of her😂

These are just the important people & a little about me. Each week I’ll share a little update on life through pictures, they last forever & hold so many memories!

Let’s go through a few fact around fitness;

1. Your muscles have memory (kind of).
If you stop training and later come back, your muscles can regain size and strength faster than the first time. It’s called “muscle memory,” and yes, it’s basically your body saying, “Ohhh right, we’ve done this before.”

2. Sweat doesn’t mean you’re burning more fat.
Sweat is just your body’s cooling system, not a fat-burning meter. You can torch calories without dripping, and you can sweat buckets without burning many—sorry, sauna suits.

3. Laughing is technically exercise.
A solid belly laugh activates your core, diaphragm, and facial muscles—and can burn a few calories. Not a gym replacement… but comedy night definitely counts as active recovery 😄

Let talk about sleep & why it is so important within fitness😴

1. Muscle recovery & growth
• When you sleep — especially in deep sleep — your body releases growth hormone, which repairs muscle tissue and builds new muscle after workouts.
• Poor sleep → less growth hormone → slower recovery and muscle gains.



2. Energy & performance
• Sleep restores glycogen (your muscles’ energy storage).
• Without enough rest, you’ll feel fatigued, weaker, and workouts will feel harder.
• Reaction time, coordination, and endurance all suffer when sleep is cut short.



3. Hormones & fat loss
• Lack of sleep disrupts hormones:
• Leptin (tells you you’re full) goes down.
• Ghrelin (makes you hungry) goes up.
• This makes you crave high-calorie foods, which can stall fat loss.



4. Mental focus & motivation
• Sleep helps with decision-making and self-control.
• When you’re sleep-deprived, motivation drops and it’s harder to push through tough workouts or stick to your nutrition plan.



5. Injury risk
• Fatigue affects movement patterns and reaction time.
• Athletes who consistently sleep less than 7 hours have higher injury rates.



📌 Bottom line:
Sleep is when your body actually gets stronger. Training breaks you down, nutrition fuels you, but sleep is when the rebuilding happens. Most people need 7–9 hours per night for optimal fitness results.

So start taking your sleep seriously especially if you want to see those results💪🏼
