Please join us for a memorial service to celebrate the life of Peter Felstead. We will gather together on Friday 10/02/2023 for the 14.30 service at Bentley Crematorium & Cemetery, Ongar Rd, Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood, Essex CM15 9RZ to remember our wonderful Dad who will be greatly missed.

Afterwards, we are holding a reception at The Eagle, Ongar Rd, Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex CM15 0AA. Please bring your fondest memories of Dad to share with family and friends.

Flowers are a personal choice. They can be left with Farrer Funeral Directors CM15 8 PA before noon on the day of the service or at the Crematorium upon arrival.

Dad supported many charities throughout his life. We have chosen Abbeyfield. They work to enhance the quality of life for older people through high quality accommodation in a stimulating environment to maintain a socially active life. Homes are closely linked to their community to enhance not only the lives of residents, but older people living locally. Community is at the heart of Abbeyfield, where people come together to share meals, company, and enjoy life.

It is with sadness that as his representative, I announce the passing of Peter Felstead on Monday following a short illness. Details regarding his funeral will be passed to club members for those who wish to attend.

The Club is beginning to make its preparations for the opening of the new bowling season. The newly formed Development Team has held its first meeting to form a plan of action for all aspects of the club, excluding Green maintenance and its immediate surroundings. These were successfully put to the Committee for approval. The main priority is clubhouse maintenance which has suffered badly over the last few years with the exterior looking very shabby-chique. As the club is responsible for all upkeep, a request will be sent out to members asking for volunteers to start on the interior decoration starting 26th February. The exterior will be started in the better weather. After that other tasks will be carried out to smarten up the site.

The first social event this year will be our quiz night on 25th February.

The club Open Days for people to try bowling will be:-
Sundays 8, 15 & 22 May from 10am - 1pm
& Wednesdays 11, 18 & 25th May from 5pm till late.

With lawn bowls being a seasonal sport, the club is closed until March/April next year except for essential ground maintenance which is carried out by dedicated members. If you can give some help towards this work, the club would be very grateful. Please contact Ken or myself for details. Many thanks.

Welcome to the Warley Hill Bowls Club page. A place where you can see our announcements and different upcoming events.

We are a mixed, very friendly social bowling club open to new members. We have a schedule of friendly games, league matches and informal roll-ups set for the 2022 season, pending government guidelines. Being one of the smaller clubs we can offer plenty of playing opportunities for all. All ages and levels of skill are welcome, so please contact us for further details.
