Weekly round up!
On Saturday, BSM’s 1st XI produced a strong all‑round display, posting 186 thanks to Kyle O’Reilly’s fluent 64 and Greg Johnson’s composed 41. With runs on the board, the bowlers took control—O’Reilly completing a superb all‑round performance with 5–17, supported by Mitch Twiggs’ tight 2–8, as Stockport CC were dismissed for 125.
The 2nd XI dominated their fixture, piling up 207‑3 with Darren Carr’s commanding 92 and Ryan Fitzpatrick’s unbeaten 75 steering the innings. Newton CC never settled in reply, undone by Harry Foster’s excellent 5–32, including a hat trick and Aidan Norris’ 2–17, sealing a convincing win.
On Sunday, the 1st XI battled hard for their 120‑9, with Daniel Hall’s gritty 43 the standout contribution. Despite breakthroughs from Kyle O’Reilly (3‑6) and Henry Armitage (1‑29), Birkenhead Park CC edged home at 121‑6 in a tight, low‑scoring contest.
The 3rd XI held their nerve in a well‑balanced game. Didsbury CC reached 130‑8, with Noman Zubairi’s superb 5‑43 and Alfie Sands’ 2‑29 keeping things in check. BSM chased steadily, led by Mark Sands’ 34 and Thomas Charlwood’s 25, reaching 131‑6 to complete a composed run‑chase.
The 4th XI fought hard after restricting Marple & Compstall CC to 144, thanks to excellent spells from Henry O’Reilly (3‑6) and Kyann Patel (3‑21). Despite a determined 51 from Martin Wood and 24 from Matt Langsford, BSM were bowled out for 122 in pursuit.
The Women’s 1st XI delivered another strong performance in a pairs‑format contest, outscoring Friends Sporting CC with a net 283‑5. Grace Hall (15 runs, 2‑19) and Kate Swindells (14 runs, 3‑18) shone with impressive all‑round contributions to secure a comfortable margin.
