Jasmijn Muller at Be The Egg Cycle Coaching (Ultra) Endurance Cycling Coach | MSc Sport Physiology student | Ultra Racer Hi !

You can still follow my personal adventures on my blog www.duracellbunnyonabike.com. As an athlete, the ability to just keep going has helped me secure various titles, including Best British All Rounder, National 12hr, National 24hr and World 24hr TT Champion. Most recently I have thrown myself into the unsupported ultra racing scene, finishing as first woman in the BikingMan Oman 1000km ‘sprint’

race in 2019 and 1900km Race Around the Netherlands in 2020, and completing the 7,400km North Cape Tarifa Race in 20222 (Europe's longest ultra race). As a cycling coach, I enjoy throwing all that ‘Duracell Bunny’ energy into going the extra mile to help you take your cycling to the next level. I have particular expertise in long distance cycling and women’s cycling, but work with both men and women, be it to help you train for your first century ride, move up to the next road racing category, set a new time trial PB, improve your bike leg in a triathlon, thrive during a long brevet/Audax, take on an ultra race or even record attempt…

… and breathe ! When I first came up with the concept of DotBooster a couple of years ago, I had a vision of an inclusive, immersive, all-encompassing coach-led ultra experience. To give riders more knowledge, skills and confidence to tackle ultra distance races and adventures, but also a lasting network and support base in this wonderful cycling niche.

Year-round and I run our own successful coaching businesses, but once a year we bring together our distinct specialisms, styles and experiences to create something unique for the riders.

Each year, we fine-tune things; find ways to add value or run things even smoother. Each year, we learn. Each year, we (and the riders) are simultaneously knackered from and totally buoyed up by the experience !!!

This year was the first year with more rain, but in ways it was the best year so far. We took on a bigger financial risk renting more indoor space, but it paid off big time in how smoothly we could run the camp with many more bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and workshop spaces available.

There were some serendipitously wonderful matches between riders and they fully embraced all experiences, even wild swimming in Cwm Llwch and climbing up Pen y Fan in the rain and mist !

Thank you to all clients attending DotBooster from wide and far, giving me an opportunity to share and create some awesome memories with you in person ❤️🤩 And thank you also to all non-coaching clients, trusting Niel and I are ‘real’ people, with real experience, offering something truly unique, valuable and fun !

I stupidly scheduled an afternoon full of regular coaching calls on the final day of DotBooster. Next week MSc ethics application and dissertation project will get my attention again. But today I won’t stray far from the hammock and on Monday I may kick my arse into gear to actually do some training for in June …

Summer has not even started but 2026 has already been packed with so many great ultra races and events for my coaching clients ! 🤩

I love looking back at their ultra adventures and achievements. So proud of you all !

And that is without highlighting the many great Audax rides some of you tick of almost casually each month !

One race still ongoing (Lost Dot 101) and many others kicking off over the next few days. Bring it on !

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”

Reframing. One of the techniques I work on a lot with my cycling coaching clients.

One of the techniques I have had to apply for myself more often than I’d like in the last few years due to ongoing knee and now back issues.

Yet, as I am feeling sorry for myself dealing with all that and the added emotional turmoil of helping our rescue dog with his fear reactivity, this new restricted, less adventurous life also helps me look at the world in a different way.

It helps me appreciate the small stuff. Like the raw love you can feel for an animal. The morning mist clearing as I walk the dog. And these cute little wonderland chairs I only really noticed after multiple visits to the dog walking heaven that is .

Walking here gives me peace. For Cosmo to run and sniff around care- and fear-free. For me to let go of some of my stress and breathe in fresh hope and energy for the busy day ahead with every breath of fresh air.

Here are some words that may resonate with anyone who likes to ride their bike a long way.

Anyone can handle rain or wind for a couple of hours. But during an ultra race your mental and physical resilience is tested to a whole new level with the elements at times appearing to be ‘against you’. You can’t change the wind, but you can lean into it. You can’t change the conditions, but you can control how you choose to respond.

Mindfulness notes - such as the words within these pictures - form a key part of my holistic coaching approach.

Cycling is about more than watts and speed. Coaching is about more than prescribing workouts.

Some riders chose to ignore these mindfulness note; and that is fine. They are intended as a subtle, gentle prompt.

But when embraced, along with a variety of mental skills exercises to rehearse in training rides, it is those riders who have actively absorbed and applied what at the time may have appeared as just ‘nice words’ who tend to thrive the most in their events.

Testing & training go hand in hand.
Test to confirm if training is working.
Test to inform future training.

But test for more than a single number…
Understand the physiology behind the power output.
Understand interconnected physiological adaptations behind the curve shifts.

Then put in more targeted work again.
To look forward with curiosity how much you can move the needle come next test day.
To thrive come race day and know you worked on what mattered most for your physiological profile and goals.

This coaching client of mine saw great improvements over the last few months. We got a bit more work to do notably on boosting fractional utilisation of VO2max and reducing VLamax further, but with a couple of months still to go (and added flexibility without a day job getting in the way), all is looking very good 🙌🏼

Today one of my clients nailed her Power Performance Testing. The aim was to improve on her winter results from last year. But she went one better and I improved on her spring results too, setting nice PBs in the process 🙌🏼

“What I think helped mentally was to divide the efforts into segments - “start it up”, “settle in, and “finish strong”. Super simple. It really helped.

Self talk matters. I strongly encourage my clients to incorporate and routinely practice and refine this in their training. The ones who truly embrace it, often end up with the best results and most enjoyment.

Part 3 of a celebration. Not of the destinations, PBs, mileages or rankings, but of the good times spent on the bike by some of my dearest clients in 2025.

A celebration of what it is truly about 😍

Achieving the fitness to enjoy simply feeling great on the bike.

Breathing in freedom. Breathing out gratitude. A celebration of all the amazing things your body, your mind and your bike can do for you.

I am looking forward to helping to create more of these moments for my clients in 2026.

1. riding strong for 500km on a cold December day. Putting her fitness and stamina towards a goal bigger than herself in fundraising for whilst going round over and again in 450-meter circles at

2. at 560 earlier this year, finding joy in sharing the adventure. We are never truly alone, even during unsupported ultras.

3. during the first day of oozing happiness as he was well on track, riding strongly and confidently executing a good ride plan and strategy.

4. at the finish of . Eucalyptus bouquet, card and cold water in hand. Met by a family who heard about the race while holidaying at Uluru and came out to the finish in 35 degrees Celcius to stand in the sun and wait to cheer Claire in at the end of her adventure of a lifetime. Such a lovely thing to do and experience ! There is no prize money in ultra racing, but these experiences are simply priceless !

3 - taking on his first gravel ultra ( )like a pro: riding, eating and sleeping in equal measure to make the most of the beautiful views by daylight.

4 - high on that ultra race day 1 ‘bring it on’ feeling: enjoying the vast natural beauty along the .cc route, before the conditions turned to more Type 2 fun. Photo by

5 - .lindley74 buzzing during and, despite losing her phone, heading undeterred into the night for a bivy by Llyn Brianne - amazing to see all the new types of cycling fun Michelle had in 2025 after only doing her first ever night ride in 2024 and her first ever in-race solo wild bivy in 2025 !
