The weather is looking great this week, and while it's important to enjoy it, consistency is what drives long-term progress.
If you're short on time or don't want to spend an hour in the gym during the heat, here's a simple 30-minute workout structure that allows you to stay on track.
2-3 Minutes: Dynamic Warm-Up
Lower Body • 8 leg swings per leg • 8 bodyweight squats
Upper Body • 8 band pull-aparts • 8 arm circles each direction
Perform as a circuit for 3 rounds to increase body temperature, improve mobility, and prepare for your session.
20-25 Minutes: Strength Training
Option 1 – Full Body
Choose 4 compound exercises and perform 2-3 sets of each.
Examples: • Squat variation • Press variation • Hinge variation • Row or pull variation
Option 2 – Upper Body
• 2-3 compound exercises • 1 isolation exercise • 2-3 sets of each
Option 3 – Lower Body
• 2 compound exercises • 2 isolation exercises • 2-3 sets of each
Focus on quality movement and controlled effort rather than rushing through the session.
5 Minutes: Core Finisher
Choose 1 core exercise and perform 2-3 challenging sets.
Examples: • Hanging knee raises • Ab wheel rollouts • Decline ab crunches
Remember, maintaining momentum is often more important than having the perfect workout. A focused 30-minute session can help you stay consistent, maintain strength, and continue progressing throughout the summer.
Train smart, stay hydrated, and enjoy the sunshine.
