Things are heating up in our AFCON Sweepie as we reach the quarter finals.

We say goodbye to Val Fleming(Gabon), Ron Forbes(Nigeria), Kaleb Simpson (Guinea), Iain Soutar (Comoros), Jack Dalgarno (Cape Verde), Brechin Youths 2(Malawi), Nairn Towns( Ivory Coast) and Callum Gourlay (Mali).

So our quarter final line up is as follows-

Brechin Youths 5(Gambia 🇬🇲) vs Wullie Campbell ( Cameroon 🇨🇲)

Brechin Youths 1(Burkino Faso) vs Lee Elder(Tunisia 🇹🇳)

Brechin Youths 3(Egpyt 🇪🇬) vs Andy Eadie( Morocco 🇲🇦)

Jamie Worrall (Senegal 🇸🇳)vs Bruce Mullin (Equitorial Guinea)

These games are played over Saturday and Sunday. Good luck to everyone still left!

So that's the AFCON group stages complete.

We say goodbye to 8 players, as Corin Gunnis(Ethiopia), Chris Simpson (Zimbabwe), Mitch Crichton(Ghana), Alan Brown(Sudan), Scott Forbes(Algeria), Brechin Youths 4(Sierra Leone), Aaron Walker(Mauritania) and Carlene Forbes(Guinea-Bissau) are all knocked out at the first hurdle!

The last 16 runs from Sunday to Tuesday!

Our first major sporting event of 2022 is the African Cup of Nations being held in Cameroon from Sunday.

What better way to gauge an interest in the tournament than to get involved in our first Sweepie!

There are 24 teams, entry is 10 pounds for this one! We will run more than 1 for it if there's a demand though!

If your team wins the tournament you will receive £100, for the runner up its £50.

To secure your place, simply comment below that your in, and make payment. We will do the draw on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning live on here!

Congratulations go to Chris Simpson who's winning team Ipswich are the Scratchcard winners!

Chris wins a nice £250 cash and in the process we raised the same amount to go to the Brechin Youths.

Our next competition will be a Sweepstake for the African Nations Cup which begins on Sunday! Details will be posted tomorrow
