Brechin 2-2 Fintry

Oocha boyser, what a game last night

4 goals and 3 red cards...

So we welcomed league newcomers Fintry to the campus last night for the first meeting between the 2 teams.

With the usual Friday night call offs, we were down to a squad of 15. This included a couple trialists.

We were a bit slow out of the blocks and took a wee while until we got going. By this point we were 1-0 down. We did get back into the game with a well worked goal that started off with Matty winning the ball on the edge of his own box and decided to take the ball for a wee run. He picked out our trialist, Liam Middleton who took his time and calmly picked his spot to equalise on his debut.

Things would then take a turn for the worst. A couple of stupid challenges from our striker resulting in a couple of yellow cards which equals a red after about 30mins or so.

HT 1-1

With the second half starting. Fintry tried to take advantage of having the extra man but didn't really create any clear cut chances. We were certainly holding our own and still created some of our own changes.

We took the lead with some great football. Starting from the back, played out wide to Ken who crossed for the onrushing Baz to calmly pass it into the goal.

With about 20 minutes to go, it got even worse for us. Our defender had a rush of blood to the head and grabbed the Fintry player round his head and threw him to the ground. With being booked in the first half, the ref produced another yellow and off he went.

With being down to 9, we knew holding onto the lead was gonna be difficult and Fintry did manage to sneak the equaliser.

With minutes left on the clock, both teams were pushing for the winner. We got a break away but unfortunately their defender hauled down the striker and the ref deemed him to be the last man so off he went.

FT 2-2

A draw was probably a fair result in the end and massive credit must go to the 9 men that were stood on the pitch after 90 minutes. They all fought for each other and on another night, we probably could've snuck all 3 points.

No game now for at least 4 weeks because of the world cup. Possibly we have a few players been called up... 🙄😂

Brechin v Fintry

With a few weeks gone by since our last game. We have a home game against league newcomers Fintry O35s.

With it being their first season in the O35s league, they've had some mixed results.

Defeat for us on our last outing but with a decent display, we'll be looking to add to our 6 points gained so far.

At a loose end? Pop along to the campus and cheer the lads on.
