How many times have you copied someone’s ‘perfect’ glute workout from Instagram? 👀

It’s ok, I always used to do this... nothing wrong with it.

But then after a couple of weeks I’d see someone else’s perfect glute workout and think ‘ah no, this one must be better, look at HER glutes’.

Half the problem is someone claiming something is ‘perfect’, because there is no such thing... the perfect way is what works for YOU and what YOU can stick to.

But even then, it’s not that it’s bad info/advice, the reason it’s not working is actually that you don’t stick with something long enough to give it a chance to work!!

So before jumping to change everything, give it more time. Some things require 1-2 months of consistency before you see a change, some things (muscle building for one) requires 6+ months before truly noticing a change.

Some things also require more DATA to know if they’re working or not.

So… my advice would be to:
✨ Trust the process
✨ Work on some serious consistency
✨ Don’t assume you’re doing something wrong/your body is broken
✨ TRACK DATA ACCURATELY
✨ And sometimes, we have to be ok with things feeling repetitive/even a bit boring

Accept some things are going to be repetitive and take time, choose your path, stick to it and block out the noise. Mentally the whole process will be easier 🤍

Building your dream body? That’s absolutely going to happen in the background.

But the actual reason you’re considering a coach in the first place is because you either:

🌼Know what to do, but don’t feel inspired to do it
🌼Feel overwhelmed/confused at how to start
🌼Know you’re capable of more
🌼Are doing lots, but not seeing much in return
🌼Know having accountability and someone in your corner will make all the difference

If your only goal is to look like X or weigh X, you’re not going to feel too inspired to show up for yourself everyday, because that happens slowly.

It’s why starting again every couple of months is more common than you think - it’s taking too long to notice progress.

You need more short term goals and more wins in the meantime.

If you want your habits to last and that dream body to last...focusing on everything else is going to matter even more.

As a coach I challenge my clients to focus on everything else too, and funnily enough, that’s when the physical results tend to follow 🤍

Ask any girly who lifts weights and has done for years, it teaches you so much and develops you as a person which I know, sounds mad or silly and deep or whatever but... it is SO true.

Sure, it’s taught me to never give up when something feels difficult in training, but it’s so valuable IN LIFE!

You prove to yourself that:

✨You can do something hard over and over again
✨You can do things that scare you
✨Showing up even when you don’t feel like it is valuable

You are literally collecting evidence that you are capable of more!

💖That evidence turns into confidence, resiliance, self-trust, self-appreciation.

And eventually that mindset starts showing up in the rest of your life too 😌

A squat PB has never felt more special which again, I know sounds crazy to some people.

I think it’s easier to understand when someone runs their first half marathon or PBs it. It is absolutely comparable because that result comes from months and years of hard work - physical and mental!

I’ll be playing this back when I need to remind myself of how far I’ve come 🤭

If I only ever did things I enjoy, I’d never do a shoulder press ever again… 😬

I know I bang on about enjoying your training. It might give the impression that it’s easy to me because I love it all.

But no, I don’t love every exercise... or every session actually.

I still always feel better after a session though no matter what, like pretty much everyone…

But I moan a lot because it’s hard 😅

But it’s meant to be! Results...physical and performace don’t come from half arsed training. Sorry 🤷‍♀️

The mental benefits are going to come from moving your body no matter what. But level it up and THAT is where serious changes are going to happen 👊

I pride myself on coaching with compassion. I know when you can be pushed but also when it’s realistic to encourage you to actually give yourself some grace and some space (rhyming not intended 🥲).

If you’re willing to sacrifice your mental health to get the body you want, I’m not the coach for you.

The reason I love training, nourishing my body and practicing general healthy daily habits is because that is what supports my mental health.

Don’t get me wrong, parts of the journey to a healthier you (yez I said that 🧀) are difficult and challenging, but in a ‘building mental resilience and belief’ and ‘testing your body to do hard things’ kind of way.

I will not be encouraging my girls to sacrifice their mental health, family life, social life and career.

Actually, I want them to learn to look after themselves in the way they would a best friend, and love themselves more, along the way 🤍

There is nothing like girlhood in the gym 🤍

3 girls behind me, helping me believe in me?!? Then they compliment my muscles?!?

Phwoar THIS is why my day starts so well 🤍
