Additions to the agenda for discussion next Sunday - our comps sec, Chris David would like to know your thoughts on going back to midweek matches for some cup rounds, but using a Tuesday rather than Wednesday to fit in with the Fort being open.
And he also proposes that teams be allowed to sign on more than 10 players for the league.
See you all at the AGM, this Sunday 8pm at The Fortescue. One player one vote remember.

Agenda
1. Apologies
2. Minutes of Previous AGM
3. Committee Reports -Will be read by appropriate committee member
4. Election of Chairman nominations
a) Shaun Sanders
b) Julian Turner
5. Election of Officers
a) Treasurer – Nomination Michael Incledon
b) Secretary – Nomination required
c) Fixture Secretary – Nomination Nick Squire
d) Competition Secretary – Nomination Christopher David
If there are no other nominations the committee will be elected en-bloc by show of hands
6. Motions –
a) All tables with registered teams should have equal opportunity to host competition matches. Tables should not be drawn until closer to the match date rather than be decided at the beginning of the competition – Shaun Sanders
b) Tables for the top 16 competition need to be of a good standard. The tournament should be conducted on one day only. – Shaun Sanders
c) Seating should be made available for away team players – Shaun Sanders
d) Trial Rule on Pace of Play
Proposal: Non-Sporting Rule (NS Rule)
That the league introduces a one-season trial rule to promote fair play, courtesy, and reasonable pace of play during matches. During the trial season:
• Players will be expected to play shots in a reasonable and sporting time frame
• As guidance, players should normally play a shot within 30–40 seconds once the table is ready
• Additional thinking time will be acceptable for genuinely complex situations
• Repeated delays of around one minute or more on routine shots may be considered slow play
Application
• The rule will be enforced using common sense and referee discretion
•It will apply equally to both players
•Progressive penalties may be used where necessary (first stage; warning, second stage; loss of visit).

Review
The trial will be reviewed at the next AGM, with feedback from captains to determine whether the rule should be:
• Adopted permanently
• Amended
•Or withdrawn

Rationale
The aim is to improve match flow and enjoyment for players and spectators, without introducing shot clocks or changing the character of Braunton Pool League.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the Breast Cancer Now raffle at Fortescue House Club, Braunton.

Together, we raised an amazing £305 for Breast Cancer Now! 🎉 Every ticket purchased and every contribution made will help support vital research, provide care, and offer hope to those affected by breast cancer.
