I've decided to break the almost year long hiatus of posting anything significant here, but now seems to a good time to get back on the horse and get after it. I’m over 2 years into my role as Head of S & C for and it's been a pretty wild ride so far, with a tonne of exciting stuff on the horizon.
Today feels poignant as its the 1st day of competition for our athletes in the Winter Olympics. I'm stoked to play a small part in their journey and super proud of all of them and the support staff that have helped them get there.
For those competing in Beijing, good luck and make sure you breathe it all in and enjoy yourselves. For those that just missed out this year, one competition does not define you and your time will come.
I feel I've been in conflict the last 12 months figuring out how I may be able to impact people and leave a legacy in the world. I've realised we all do that in our own way but we often don't let the world know. Letting the world know is far from the most important thing for me, but it seems a necessity in the times we are in today. However, if I can help more humans to live better, happier, more fulfilled lives then s**t I better let people know. I'm looking forward to hopefully Shari some impactful things as well as the rad stuff I get to do, and the rad people I get to share it with.
If you haven't nodded off then you're a legend and kudos for getting this far. I'll leave you with this little quote from the brilliant book 'Tribe' that I was recommended by good friend and ninja
“The beauty and the tragedy of the modern world is that it eliminates many situations that require people to demonstrate a commitment to the collective good.”
So, even though my situation may not require it, I plan to do my part for the collective good.
Peace out homies ✌🏼✌🏼
