On Tuesday 19th May 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany the European Karate Federation at their annual European congress voted and unanimously confirmed the full membership of the English Karate National Governing Body (EKNGB) to the European Karate Federation.

EKNGB President Dale Gamble addressed the European congress on behalf of the EKNGB to the National Federations and the WKF President and executive committee.

A new addition to our Traditional Karate Course Series, with thanks to Sensei Paul Wolstencroft who will lead a Seminar for the EKNGB on Sunday 27th September 2026.

Sensei Paul Wolstencroft is a distinguished Shotokan Karate instructor and 6th Dan Black Belt, recognised for his longstanding commitment to the development and promotion of traditional karate. As Chief Instructor of Red Tiger Karate, he has dedicated his career to fostering excellence in martial arts education, guiding students of all ages in both technical achievement and personal development. He trains regularly in Japan where he has been able to grade throughout his career.

With decades of experience in karate, Sensei Wolstencroft has played a significant role in coaching and mentoring athletes at both regional and national levels. His expertise has been recognised through appointments within English Karate, where he has contributed to the development of competitive karate and the advancement of coaching standards.

Respected for his professionalism, leadership, and dedication to the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance, Sensei Wolstencroft continues to inspire students and instructors alike, promoting karate as a lifelong pursuit of excellence and personal growth.

The EKNGB Young Lions Kumite pre-training session this afternoon was a great success. The squad worked hard on developing timing and speed of attack, with plenty of focused drills and quality practice. Just as importantly, the session helped the team gel together, building communication, trust, and a strong team spirit ahead of future competitions. A positive and productive afternoon with everyone showing great effort and commitment.
